How to Find Digtoise in Terraria

Okay, so the new 1.4.5 update for Terraria, called ‘Bigger & Boulder’, is seriously cool! They’ve done a crossover with Palworld, and the star is this awesome creature called Digtoise. Basically, it’s a giant, spinning turtle that drills through dirt and stone for you! Forget spending ages mining – this thing is a game changer for finding loot. I’m so hyped to try it out!

Need help digging long tunnels, building high shafts, or just want a charming companion in Terraria? Digtoise is the perfect solution! We’ll show you how to find one, so grab your torch and pickaxe and get ready to start your search for this adorable creature.

How to Find Digtoise in Terraria

Digtoise live in the Underground Desert, a large cave system filled with yellow sand located far below the surface. This area features pyramids and is home to enemies like scarabs, along with the Digtoise themselves.

Okay, so getting to the Underground Desert is pretty straightforward – you just gotta dig down from the regular desert surface. I usually use a pickaxe, but bombs work too. Keep an eye out for Digtoise while you’re digging! It looks like a fossil, kinda round and spiky, stuck in the walls or floor. The cool thing is, you can mine it with any pickaxe, even a cheap copper one!

Digtoise appears only in newly created worlds after the recent update. If you already had a world before the update, you’ll need to start a new one to encounter it.

Helpful Potions for Your Hunt for Digtoise

To easily find valuable items and ores – including Digtoise – you can brew a Spelunker Potion with Bottled Water, Blinkroot, Moonglow, and Gold Ore. This potion makes everything glow! If you prefer, a Treasure Finder Potion will give you sparkly clues to hidden items, also helping you locate Digtoise. Remember to drink either potion before you start digging. Another option is to use the Metal Detector accessory.

How to Summon and Use Digtoise

After you break open a fossil block, Digtoise will appear in your items. Click the left mouse button to bring Digtoise out, and it will follow you around like a pet. Use the right mouse button to recall Digtoise to your side, or click near it to see a cute animation. Digtoise is most useful before you enter Hardmode, as it can dig through soft blocks but can’t handle tougher ores later in the game.

Move your mouse to the spot you want to dig, then left-click. Digtoise will burrow his way there!

  • Dig down: It makes a wide hole straight below.
  • Dig side: It carves a tall path left or right for side tunnels.
  • Right-click to stop it midway. Use this for quick mines or base building.
