How to Get Amaura in Pokemon Legends Z-A
In Pokemon Legends Z-A, you can get Amaura by finishing the side quest ‘Restored From a Fossil.’ This quest becomes available after you complete the main story mission ‘The Secrets of Mega Evolution.’
Once you accept this optional mission, you can visit the Stone Emporium – the shop with evolution stones – and collect the Sail Fossil, which you’ll need to bring this ancient Pokémon back to life.
Fossil Pokémon aren’t part of the usual Pokémon that appear in the wild, so using a Shiny Charm won’t increase your chances of finding a shiny one. However, once you revive a Fossil Pokémon, there’s a 1% chance it will be an Alpha Pokémon.
How to Evolve Amaura into Aurorus in Legends Z-A
In Pokemon Legends Z-A, to evolve Amaura into Aurorus, you first need to level it up to 39. Then, you must wait until nighttime – you can do this by playing the game until night falls, or by simply waiting on the Bench until then. Once it’s night, Amaura’s evolution icon will light up. To evolve it, open the Main Menu (X) and select ‘Evolve’ from the Party Management screen, using the icon next to Amaura.
Aurorus is a strong Pokémon with a total base stat of 521. It’s one of the most durable Ice-types, largely due to its high HP. While its Defense and Special Defense aren’t amazing, a well-planned build can make it a real threat, especially against Pokémon that rely on Dragon-type attacks.
This Rock/Ice Pokémon struggles in battles against Steel-types. This is particularly true when facing Aurorus, as its opponent is a Fighting/Steel-type and can inflict significant damage with its powerful moves.

- Moveset: Rock Blast, Ice Beam, Freeze-Dry, Zen Headbutt
Rock Blast benefits from Aurorus’ Rock-type attack boost and helps create space from opponents who get too close. Ice Beam is a solid ranged attack with a good balance of speed and cooldown. Freeze-Dry is especially effective against Mega Feraligatr, a popular choice in ranked battles.
