To attain Rank 6 in the Master Hunter Challenges, Marston must successfully trap and skin a total of five Raccoons, five Foxes, and five Skunks. Given that Raccoons are active during nighttime hours, it’s advisable to hunt them between sunset and dawn. Here are some trusted spots where you might find these elusive creatures:

  • Oddfellow’s Rest: The graveyard here is a hotspot for raccoons and rabbits at night.
  • Beecher’s Hope: Check the area in front of the pavilion, west of the main house.
  • Just south of Beecher’s Hope in the morning from around 4 to 6 AM.
  • Armadillo: Look behind the stagecoach in the grassy area for both Raccoons and Skunks. Also, explore the back alleys of the town at night.
  • South of Armadillo: You can find Raccoons between the two road paths on the map.
  • Tanner’s Reach: Place bait in the large opening by the river, south of the town.
  • Tall Trees: You can find Raccoos in the northern part of Tall Trees.
  • Nosalida: Keep to the left side of the circular road to find Raccoons.
  • Tanner’s Span: Look near the “e” in the town’s name.
  • The Plains: The areas west of the Wreck of the Serendipity and north of Thieves’ Landing are home to many raccoons.
  • Manzanita Post: Raccoons frequently cross the train tracks at the train station here, especially between 7 PM and 1 AM. You can also find Raccoons behind cabins at night
  • West of MacFarlane’s Ranch, in the areas near Pike’s Basin.
  • Around Warthington Ranch, which is south of MacFarlane’s Ranch
  • Around the Mansion in Tumbleweed: The area surrounding the mansion is a good spot to find raccoons at night.
  • Around the Brittlebrush Trawl.

In addition to these locations – The Plains, Wreck of the Serendipity, and Thieves’ Landing – you might also encounter foxes and skunks. These spots make them suitable for advancing towards the Master Hunter Rank 6 Challenge. It’s wise to always have a shotgun on hand, as potentially harmful creatures such as cougars and boars are known to inhabit these regions alongside raccoons.
