Okay, so the Aphelion has always been a super rare gun in ARC Raiders. When it first came out, getting the blueprint was a real pain – you basically had to beat one of the toughest enemies in the game to even have a chance. But thankfully, the developers at ARC Raiders changed how the blueprint drops, and now it’s way easier to get your hands on this Legendary weapon. It’s still awesome, but not quite as grindy to unlock!

How to Get the Aphelion Blueprint

It’s no longer dropped by a specific enemy; instead, you can find it as a random reward in crates, boxes, and drawers across Stella Montis. How often it appears depends on how valuable the loot is in that area.

Currently, there’s no reliable method to get the Aphelion blueprint. It now drops randomly while looting on the Stella Montis map in ARC Raiders – you’ll need some luck to find it.
How to Craft the Aphelion Legendary Weapon
After getting the Aphelion blueprint, players need to use it to learn the recipe. This unlocks the ability to craft the weapon at the gunsmith workshop. Because the Aphelion is a powerful Legendary weapon from ARC Raiders, crafting it requires one Matriarch Reactor, three Complex Gun Parts, and three Magnetic Accelerators.

How Players Got the Aphelion Blueprint Before the December Patch
Originally, players could always get the Aphelion blueprint by defeating the Matriarch, a powerful enemy in ARC Raiders. The blueprint dropped from the core of this large robot, and players could also find the Matriarch Reactor – needed to build the weapon – during that same fight. However, this changed with an update released in December 2025.
Is Aphelion Worth It?
Image via Embark Studios Although the Aphelion weapon can pierce through strong armor, it’s not a top choice in ARC Raiders. It’s hard to make, and doesn’t perform very well in player-versus-player combat. Plus, its burst-fire mode can make it feel slower than other weapons.
When choosing a Legendary weapon, the Equalizer from ARC Raiders is frequently a stronger option. Although it doesn’t perform well in player-versus-player combat, its steady energy beam is much more reliable for taking down big ARC enemies, even the Matriarch.
