How to Find the Fates in Hades 2 (Melinoe, Seek Us Walkthrough)

At the start of Hades 2, players discover that the Three Fates have disappeared – Chronos cast them into the Underworld when he started his war with Olympus. For most of the game, Melinoe’s main objective is to locate the Three Fates, but you won’t be able to succeed in this task until you’ve progressed very far into the game.

As a huge fan of Hades 2, I’m really intrigued by the story! Apparently, the Three Fates, who control everyone’s destiny, have gone missing, and it’s causing chaos. To find them, we players have to complete a pretty involved quest. It involves following the Fated List of Prophecies – which leads to the game’s normal ending – but also building up relationships with characters. The biggest challenge seems to be a riddle where we, as Melinoe, have to complete a series of specific tasks to finally get in touch with the Fates. It sounds like a really cool, complex storyline!

Step One: Melinoe, Help Us

We need your help, and we’re asking for it now. This isn’t a prediction of the future, just a sincere request. We’re putting ourselves in a difficult position by contacting you like this, but we don’t see any other way forward.

Locate the Three Fates

To start the quest for the Three Fates in Hades 2, you first need to finish the game – that means seeing the credits roll after defeating Chronos and experiencing the standard ending of Hades 2.

Once Melinoe goes back to the Crossroads, look at the Fated List of Minor Prophecies. You’ll notice the prophecy that used to be called Melinoe, Help Us has now changed to a new task: Melinoe, Remember Us.

Step Two: Melinoe, Remember Us

We recognize your achievement, but we are unable to reveal our location at this time. Please do not discuss this matter until our Emissary gives you the signal – the same phrase you’ve used repeatedly in the past. We offer our commendations despite our current limitations.

Investigate the Underworld and Olympus.

To find the Three Fates, Melinoe needs to keep replaying the Underworld and Olympus in the post-credits scene, looking for any clues about their location. After a while, Moros will start giving Melinoe special information about the Fated List.

It’s not entirely certain what causes Moros to initiate this prophecy’s completion, but you’ll need to finish at least one full playthrough of each path, and it might take several attempts. Make sure to complete full runs, speak with Moros whenever you can, and check the Fated List each time you return to the Crossroads until you unlock the third step, which will guide you to the Three Fates in Hades 2.

You might also need to become better friends with Moros, so remember to give him Nectar whenever you go back to the Crossroads.

Step Three: Melinoe, Seek Us

Our bond is becoming stronger; please continue to nurture it. Try to learn about our Emissary and anyone else who might understand our beliefs and location.

To progress to the third step in finding the Fates in Hades 2, players need to build relationships with six characters linked to the Fates. With most of these characters, Melinoe can simply give them Nectar and other Indulgences until the corresponding line in the Melinoe, Seek Us prophecy is finished.

To start the “He Who Rebels Against The Gods” riddle in Hades 2, players need to get a certain conversation going with Prometheus. Unlike the third boss on the Surface path, who doesn’t accept gifts to build a relationship, you have to keep fighting Prometheus until he brings up the Three Fates during his introduction before a fight.

This process might require between two and over twenty attempts, depending on how much of the character’s important conversations you’ve already experienced (and how often you spoke with Prometheus during the Early Access phase).

Final Step: Melinoe, Find Us

How to Find the Fates in Hades 2

You’re on the right track. Within the deepest parts of Oceanus, use the gift from our Emissary. Activate it three times in a row, in separate chambers, and then intentionally return to the shadows.

Locate the Three Fates.

To finally locate the Fates in Hades 2, you need to carefully follow the directions they give you while you’re in Oceanus, the second area you’ll travel through on the Underworld path. The riddle isn’t very straightforward, but it’s still manageable to solve.

Basically, you need to have the Engraved Pin Keepsake equipped (it’s similar to Moros’ death defiance Keepsake) while you’re in Oceanus. Then, let your health reach 0 and successfully activate the Keepsake’s healing to survive for three rooms consecutively. After you’ve cleared the third room, deliberately let yourself die.

  • You do not have to use the Engraved Pin while in Erebus, as long as you remember to swap out your initial Keepsake for the Engraved Pin in the rest area between the first and second regions.
  • Avoid taking NPC dialogue rooms (like Narcissus), Charon shop rooms, or other rooms that do not spawn enemies. You must trigger the Keepsake’s effect in three rooms in a row to complete this task, which requires a way to get to 0 HP and defeat enemies to recover.

If you manage to meet all of these conditions, Melinoe won’t return to the Crossroads. Instead, the Fates will appear before her and share what they have planned for the future. Once this major secret is revealed, you’ll unlock the Golden Age achievement and witness Hades 2‘s True Ending cutscene.
