How to Fix Weapons and Armor in Hytale

Hytale immerses you in a unique and imaginative world brimming with excitement and adventure. As you journey through Orbis and other realms, your equipment will wear down and eventually break. Luckily, broken or damaged items can be fixed using Repair Kits, but these aren’t readily available – you’ll need to put in some effort to find them.

How to Make Repair Kits in Hytale

Repair Kits are items you can create to fix damaged equipment. You craft them at a Workbench using a few simple materials. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 Linen Scraps
  • 1 Iron Ingots
  • 1 Light Leather

Even though the crafting steps are straightforward, gathering the necessary materials can take a while. You create Iron Ingots by smelting Iron Ore in a Furnace, and Light Leather by drying Light Hide in a Tannery.

Linen Scraps take the longest to collect of these three materials. You can’t make them yourself, so you have to find them by defeating enemies like Skeletons and Trorks. These enemies are found in camps all over the map, which you can easily locate by looking for camp icons on your map.

A helpful feature of these camps is that the monsters reappear after a while. This means if you need more Linen Scraps, you can simply revisit the camps to collect them again.

Using Repair Kits

To repair items in Hytale, first open your Workbench and go to the Tools tab. You’ll see the Repair Kit icon in the top-left box. To use it, put the Repair Kit in your hotbar and right-click. This will open a window showing all the items you’re carrying that can be repaired. Simply choose the item you want to fix, and the Repair Kit will be used.

Just be aware that using a Repair Kit slightly lowers an item’s maximum durability – by 10% each time. Repeatedly repairing the same item with Repair Kits will eventually cause it to break permanently. Currently, there’s no way to avoid this unless you use Hytale mods. We’ll let you know if this changes in the future.

It’s a good idea to duplicate any equipment you use often, particularly tools. Hold onto your Repair Kits for more durable items like armor and weapons.
