Let’s be real, part of what makes these games fun is finding all the crazy bugs and glitches, and *Skate 4* is delivering! Right now, everyone’s talking about this launch glitch – it’s seriously awesome. You can basically launch yourself into the air and land on top of any building in the game. They did patch the first version of it with the Season 1 update, but players have already found a new way to do it. It’s a little harder to pull off this time around, so you might need to practice, but it’s still totally worth it!
How to Do the Skate 4 Launch Glitch in Season 1
Early versions of the game *Skate* (sometimes called *Skate 4*) had a bug that let players essentially fly. Players could trigger this by performing a specific trick sequence: placing the board down, pushing the right stick downwards, and then using an emote. This would put their character in a T-pose and launch them high into the air, allowing them to land on any building in the game.
The recent update for Season 1 fixed the original flying glitch in *Skate*, which many players were disappointed about. To perform this new flying glitch, you’ll need to go to the Hedgemont area, specifically at the location shown on the map.
If you’re still having trouble with the glitch, you can try changing your character’s height to 3 in the appearance settings – it might help!

When you get to the spot, look for a yellow bar positioned between two ramps. Use either the bar or the ramps to get up onto the small area right before the railing. Then, repeatedly press the RB button (on Xbox) or the R1 button (on PlayStation) to drop the skateboard onto the ledge until both wheels catch.

Once the board is stuck, move to a safe spot nearby. Then, jump and press the Y button on an Xbox controller, or the Triangle button on a PlayStation controller. This will release the board and launch you upwards.
Don’t give up if this doesn’t work right away – keep practicing until you get it down. Because this is a known issue, it should eventually work every time. If you manage to pull it off, quickly save your position in the air by holding the Up button on the D-pad. This will let you easily return to that spot by pressing Up again.
Changing your approach angle to the board lets you control your flight. You can also get extra height by sprinting right before you jump. Using these techniques allows you to perform the new launch glitch in Skate 4 and reach the top of any building you want.
