Among all the thrilling actions in Call of Duty, there’s nothing more awe-inspiring than unleashing a Nuke, and it’s back with a bang as part of the Black Ops 6 beta!
2009’s Modern Warfare 2 introduced the Tactical Nuke Killstreak, which is given to the most skilled players and allows them to win the game by detonating the map, securing a triumph for their team.
Usually, it’s not included in Black Ops games until after their release (as seen with Cold War). But in Black Ops 6, it will be available from the start. Here’s a guide on how to obtain it during launch and some effective strategies to use in the beta version.
Black Ops 6 Nuke requirements
To earn the Nuke Killstreak in Black Ops 6, you must achieve a streak of 30 consecutive kills using weapons and equipment, as only self-inflicted kills will contribute to this objective, following the trend established in recent games where Scorestreak kills are not considered.
Instead of arming the Nuke, you’ll be able to choose it as an additional option on your Killstreak bar once you achieve a streak of thirty consecutive kills.
Over time, it’s had several names, but Black Ops 6 returns to simplicity by referring to it as a Nuclear Strike. Once activated, a timer of five seconds begins to countdown, ending the game.
At the Call of Duty Next tournament, Streamer JustHazzardous was the first to secure a Best-of-Six (BO6) Nuke win, reaching an impressive 30-kill streak. This incredible feat is accompanied by an intense visual of your character seemingly being consumed by fire before the team that activated the Nuke emerges victorious.
In Black Ops 6, it seems that your killstreak isn’t displayed after each kill, meaning you need to keep track of your consecutive kills for activation. If you’re prone to the “yips”, it may be wiser not to monitor your kill count.
Admittedly, getting a Nuke is largely down to luck as you need a perfect lobby of players that you’re much better than. However, you can implement the right strategy to give yourself the best chance.
Best BO6 Nuke strategy
In Black Ops 6, to acquire a Nuclear weapon, it’s advisable to arm yourself with a potent weapon you’re familiar with and also select Scorestreaks that offer valuable intelligence.
As a player, I’d recommend familiarizing yourself with the enemy spawn points on the map. This way, you can maintain control over the situation by keeping your adversaries in sight, reducing the chances of getting caught off guard or taking unexpected fire from behind.
Best Field Upgrade
In a more casual, conversational tone: The Assault Pack is an excellent choice when aiming for a Nuke. It allows you to reload your ammunition and gear instantly, eliminating those frustrating moments when you run out of bullets and have to search for another weapon. With the Assault Pack, you’ll always be fully stocked!

In the Black Ops 6 beta, consider utilizing these Scorestreaks due to their wealth of beneficial information. The recently introduced Scout Pulse emits a slight radar signal that marks enemies on your mini-map. Following this, the trusty UAV reveals enemy locations for all team members, and the Counter UAV nullifies enemy intel.
As an avid gamer, I’ve come to realize that being a Chopper Gunner is like wielding a formidable force, capable of inflicting massive damage and racking up impressive kill counts. However, should you find yourself in a vulnerable position, you’ll be exposed like a sitting duck – unfortunately, those kills won’t contribute towards earning the Nuke.
