How to Get All Mementos in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Among the many tough challenges in *Hollow Knight: Silksong*, getting all eight Mementos is likely the hardest. These challenges really test your skills as a player, demanding perfect timing and control in almost everything you do. Whether you’re finishing the Hunter’s Journal or winning against Seth in the Flea challenges, they’re a final way to prove you’ve truly mastered the game.

In *Hollow Knight: Silksong*, Hornet can collect eight special items called Mementos and display them in her home. These Mementos include the Sprintmaster, Guardian, Hero, Hunter, Grey, Surface, Craw, and Heart Mementos (the Heart Memento can be one of four different designs). This guide will show you how to find and obtain all eight of these collectibles.

Warning! This guide contains major spoilers for several key events in Silksong‘s late game stages.

How to Get the Sprintmaster Memento in Silksong

Defeat Sprintmaster Swift:

Okay, so in Act 3, I need to grab three hearts. When I went looking for the Heart of the Wild in the new Far Fields area – the northeastern part, specifically – I ran into Sprintmaster Swift. To find him, I basically just had to head as far east as I could go. It wasn’t too hard, but definitely needed to explore!

When you reach the end of the path, you’ll find a large skull that Hornet can go inside. There, you’ll meet Sprintmaster Swift. To get Swift’s Memento, you’ll have to win four races against them.

If you go to Swift before finishing the main story of Act 3, you can only participate in the first three races. While you’ll get a Mask Shard for doing so, you won’t receive the special memento. To get the memento, you need to come back after completing Act 3’s main quest. Then, you’ll be able to enter a fourth and final race. Winning this race will reward you with the Sprintmaster Memento.

The fourth race is just like the third, but it lasts longer – six laps instead of three. Don’t forget to take the Clawline whenever you can; that’s what usually helped us win.

How to Get the Guardian’s Memento in Silksong

Defeat Shrine Guardian Seth and Collect All Lost Fleas:

During Act 3, you’ll need to gather several hearts for the Snail Shamans. When you’re searching for the Heart of the Woods, you’ll run into Shrine Guardian Seth. He blocks the main path and you have to defeat him to continue. Beating him is essential to unlock the events that lead to earning his memento.

You’ll also need to find all 30 Lost Fleas and start the Festival of the Flea in Fleatopia, which is their final campsite near the eastern side of the Putrefied Ducts. After you’ve done those two things, you can find Seth and get his memento.

Seth Location 1:

Okay, so after I finally beat Seth, he doesn’t just disappear! I started seeing him pop up in a few different places around Pharloom. First, I found him hanging out in Greymoor, right where I originally met Shakra when I was buying stuff. Eventually, he ended up settling down in Fleatopia, but it took a while to find him in all his temporary spots.

Seth Location 2:

You can find Seth’s second location in Shellwood, a short distance east of the ability chamber. To get there, leave the ability chamber and take the lower of the two available hallways heading east. You’ll see Seth enjoying the flowers hanging there.

Seth Location 3:

After you meet Seth in Shellwood, he’s meant to go to the Grand Gate, right before the area with the big tilting platforms. But a lot of players, including us, have found that Seth doesn’t appear there. Instead, he goes straight to Fleatopia, and that’s what happened to us too.

The Grand Gate is near the second location, so it’s a good idea to check if Seth appears there.

How to Get the Guardian’s Memento:

Okay, so after you meet Seth near Pharloom, he heads over to Fleatopia – it’s in the northeast part of the Putrefied Ducts. Once you find him there, I had to beat his high scores in all three of the minigames at the Festival of the Flea. If you’ve already grabbed the Pale Oil from those little flea guys, you’ll already know how the games work, which is good!

If you check the high score board near Vog, you’ll see Seth has achieved the following scores:

  • Flea Juggle – 55
  • Flea Dodge – 95
  • Flea Bounce – 68

These mini-games don’t allow you to use any special tools or abilities. The only thing that matters is which Crest you choose, so pick the one you’re most familiar with. This is particularly helpful in Flea Dodge and Flea Bounce, where using the ‘pogo’ attack with the Needle Bounce Crest is really effective. We found the Wanderer Crest worked well for Dodge and Bounce, and the Shaman’s Crest was best for Juggle.

After completing each minigame, speak to Seth again to receive the Guardian’s Memento.

How to Get the Hero’s Memento in Silksong

Meet Garmond and Zaza:

You can get the Hero’s Memento from Garmond by finishing the series of tasks that unlock the Hero’s Call wish on the Bellhart Wishboard.

You’ll find Garmond and Zaza in various places in Pharloom, but you only need to talk to them once, and it’s best to do so early in the game. The simplest location is in Greymoor. Head through the main building in the western area, and you’ll find them in a small room on the eastern wall. Talking to Garmond there will complete the first step of this quest.

The next step in the quest happens in Act 3. You need to find Garmond in the Far Fields – we last saw him near Weavenest Cindril, but some players report finding him at the western entrance to the area. Once you’re in the Far Fields, just talk to Garmond to finish this part of the ‘Hero’s Call’ quest.

Complete Hero’s Call:

Several players, including our team, found they could start the ‘Hero’s Call’ quest after repeatedly encountering Garmond and Zaza throughout the game’s three acts. However, others didn’t see it appear until later on. To make sure the ‘Hero’s Call’ quest shows up on the Bellhart Wishboard, it’s best to first finish the ‘Old Hearts’ main quest and then progress through ‘Red Memory’. You’ll know you’ve met the requirements when you get the Everbloom, which lets you enter the Void in the Abyss.

After you begin the “Hero’s Call” quest, getting the Hero’s Memento is easy. Go to the Blasted Steps Bellway, and you’ll find Zaza trying to flag you down. Follow them to Garmond, who is now under the Void’s control.

To collect the Hero’s Memento, simply defeat Garmond in this state.

How to Get the Hunter’s Memento in Silksong

Complete the Hunter’s Journal:

The Hunter’s Memento isn’t difficult to get, but it does require a lot of work. You need to fill out every single entry – all 234 of them – in the Hunter’s Journal to earn it.

You can get the Hunter’s Journal by talking to Nuu at the Halfway Home in Greymoor, which is located just above Criege. When you speak with Nuu, they’ll give you the “Bugs of Pharloom” quest. This quest asks you to find 100 bugs and rewards you with the Hunter’s Journal.

To check your progress on the Hunter’s Journal, obtain the Farsight item from Weavenest Absalom in the Abyss. Placing it in your Bellhome will display detailed stats showing how much you’ve completed.

How to Get the Grey Memento in Silksong

Defeat the Watcher at the Edge:

You can get the Grey Memento by defeating the Watcher at the Edge, a hidden boss found in the Sands of Karak desert. This boss only appears during Act 3, once you’ve learned all the main abilities, like Silk Soar.

To find the secret path to the Watcher at the Edge, head southwest, just before the passage leading back down to the Blasted Steps and the Pintress’ house. Look for it on the left side of the ‘S’ in ‘Sands of Karak’. To get to the spot where you use Silk Soar, you’ll need to locate a hidden seed higher up on the wall.

Starting from the main stem that grows in both directions, take the western branch and follow it upwards along the wall until you find a small seed attached to the ceiling.

Hit the seed on the ceiling, then follow the branch it creates.

You’ll come to a point where it looks like you can’t go any further. But with Silk Soar, you can reach a secret path. Follow this path to its end on the west side.

When you find the Watcher at the Edge, it initially looks like a weathered, sandy statue. But if you play the Needolin instrument for a while, it will awaken and the boss fight will begin.

How to Get the Surface Memento in Silksong

Path of Pain Sequel:

The Surface Memento is found in a secret area on the surface, accessible only by completing a very challenging platforming sequence. Some players have compared it to the notoriously difficult Path of Pain from *Hollow Knight*, though that comparison might be an exaggeration. What *is* certain is that you need to overcome this obstacle to find it.

To find this secret path, start Act 3, then return to the top of the Cradle – the area where you fought the Grand Mother of Silk in Act 2. It can be tricky to spot, but there’s a hidden passage at the top of the chamber that leads to this challenging area.

The cave is located at the end of the path. Going inside will start a much simpler version of the Path of Pain.

After you emerge, travel east to find Nameless Town. There aren’t any maps available for this region, so you’ll have to navigate without one.

After you finish exploring Nameless Town, you’ll find some old ruins. Play the Needolin for a little while – enough to see a few lines of its song. When you stop playing, wait briefly, and the Surface Memento will appear on the ground.

How to Get the Craw Memento in Silksong

Locate the Craw Summons:

The Craw Memento is fairly easy to find once you’re nearing the end of the game. Getting the Craw Summons is the key to starting the quest to find it.

You can find the Craw Summons by exploring the areas around Greymoor while playing Act 3 of the game. Simply rest on any bench in these areas, and there’s a chance a pin holding the summons will drop from above.

We found the Craw Summons in Shellwood, while taking a break on a bench. The bench is located in the center of the large, rectangular room, towards the eastern part of the area, and is shown in the image above.

After you get the Craw Summons, take it to the Craw building on the far east side of Greymoor. Go inside through the door at the bottom, and then walk towards the southeast corner of the building.

You’ll come to a locked door that opens with the Craw Summons. Once inside, you’ll enter a corridor leading to a combat area. Here, you’ll fight several groups of Craw enemies, culminating in a battle against the Crawfather. Defeating everything will reward you with the Craw Memento.

How to Get the Heart Memento in Silksong

Complete “The Old Hearts” Main Quest:

The last of the eight Mementos in *Hollow Knight: Silksong* is connected to a major quest in Act 3, but it doesn’t have the name ‘Heart Memento.’ We refer to it that way because while the Memento can appear in different forms, it will always be shaped like a heart.

In the quest “The Old Hearts,” the Snail Shamans ask Hornet to gather three hearts from old leaders scattered around Pharloom. They don’t mention there’s actually a fourth heart hidden away. To get this special collectible, you need to have three out of the four hearts with you when you go back to the Snail Shamans – doing so will reveal the fourth heart as the collectible.

The four hearts that you can collect for this mission are:

  • Heart of Might
  • Heart of the Woods
  • Heart of the Wild
  • Conjoined Heart

The first three hearts needed for the quest are shown directly on the map. However, the Conjoined Heart is obtained by completing the Green Prince’s questline – you’ll receive it at the very end.

Bring the Conjoined Heart and any two of the other quest hearts to the Snail Shamans. The remaining heart can be kept as a memento in Hornet’s Bellhome. If you have all four hearts, the shamans will always take the three main quest hearts, leaving you with the Conjoined Heart as a memento.

Okay, so if you want to show off all the Mementos you’ve collected, you’ll need to buy some furniture from Frey in Bellhart. Specifically, you need to get a Bellhome and then purchase the Desk. Once you’ve done that and head back to your place, you can finally display all those cool Mementos!
