How to Get an AtlasPass in No Man’s Sky

In No Man’s Sky, you might find locked doors or loot containers that require an AtlasPass to open. This guide will explain what AtlasPasses are and, most importantly, how to obtain one.

What Is An AtlasPass In No Man’s Sky?

There are three types of AtlasPass in the game, and each one can be used as a key to open specific locked items or doors. Luckily, you can use an AtlasPass as many times as you need! You’ll need to craft them and keep them in your inventory to use.

Name Unlocks
AtlasPass v1 Barrel Cargo Drops.
AtlasPass v2 Manufacturing Facility & Operations Center doors.
AtlasPass v3 Abandoned Space Station doors.

If you have a more advanced AtlasPass, like version 3, you automatically get all the perks of the older, basic passes. This means you can safely get rid of your old passes or share them with others.

How To Get An AtlasPass In No Man’s Sky

You can make all three types of AtlasPasses, but you’ll need the blueprints first. These blueprints are available for purchase at the Synthesis Laboratory within the Anomaly.

Each version costs 250 Nanites, but you need to unlock the earlier versions first, even if you don’t plan on making them. So, getting the latest version, AtlasPass v3, will cost a total of 750 Nanites.

Where To Find The Synthesis Laboratory

Once you’ve arrived with the Anomaly, go up the stairs to the left of the Nexus. When you reach the main hallway, turn left towards the floating Anomaly model. You’ll find some characters and different stations around, and the Synthesis Laboratory is on your right.

You can learn new technologies in this area, often with assistance from characters nearby, like Eos. The Gravity Gun is one of the new tools you can acquire.

How To Craft AtlasPasses

You make all types of AtlasPasses using the crafting system, but each one needs a slightly different set of materials.

Name Materials
AtlasPass v1 1 Microprocessor + 200 Copper
AtlasPass v2 1 Microprocessor + 200 Cadmium
AtlasPass v3 1 Microprocessor + 200 Emeril

As a film buff who also loves tinkering with tech, I recently learned something fascinating! You can actually get the designs – the blueprints, if you will – for microprocessors from the Synthesis Laboratory. And get this: they’re made using just two things: 40 units of Chromatic Metal and a single Carbon Nanotube. Pretty cool, right?

Copper, Cadmium, and Emeril are becoming harder to find, and players can locate them in resource deposits on planets that indicate these materials are present.

Okay, so you’ll need to do a lot of mining with your Terrain Manipulator! Apparently, the stuff you dig up isn’t just for building, it’s also essential for crafting Chromatic Metal, which you need to make those Microprocessors. It seems like you’ll be spending a good chunk of time gathering resources!
