Swirlix is a fan favorite in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and it becomes even more powerful when it evolves into Slurpuff. But evolving Swirlix in this game isn’t as simple as it is for most Pokemon – it has unique requirements you’ll need to meet.

In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, evolving certain Pokemon requires more than just leveling up. Some Pokemon evolve by becoming close to you – increasing their friendship level – while others need to be traded with other players. Evolving Swirlix into Slurpuff in Pokemon Legends: Z-A takes a little extra work, but it’s definitely worth it!

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Swirlix Location

You won’t find Swirlix in the wild areas of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Instead, it prefers to be around cafes in Lumiose City. For example, you can find it at Nouveau Cafe in the southwest part of the city, and it also appears at Cafe Gallant near Prism Tower in the city center.

Okay, so I’ve learned that if I’m hanging out at a cafe looking for Swirlix, the best place to start is on top of any food trucks they have. If there aren’t any food trucks around, I need to check the tables where people are actually eating. Apparently, Swirlix likes to hang out on top of the umbrellas at the covered seating areas. Just a heads up though, Spritzee can show up in those same spots too, so I might have to wait a bit and reset the Pokemon spawns if I’m really after Swirlix.

How to Evolve Swirlix in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Okay, so if you want to evolve your Swirlix in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you’ve gotta trade it to another player while it’s holding the Whipped Dream item. That item’s only use is to get Swirlix to turn into Slurpuff, which is kinda neat. The cool thing is, Swirlix doesn’t need to be a certain level – you can evolve it right away! If you don’t have anyone to trade with locally, don’t worry! Pokemon Legends: Z-A lets you use trade codes to find other players online who are also trying to evolve their Swirlix.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A Whipped Dream Location

Whipped Dream is a very rare item in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but you can get some for free through a quest. Check out Side Quest 14, “Slurpuff’s Cafe Visit,” at the Shutterbug Cafe in Lumioise City. The cafe is located in the western part of the city, just west of Wild Zone 5.

This new task is simple: just visit a cafe located on the opposite side of town. It becomes available after you finish the main story mission, ‘Reaching Rank W’. Bring your Slurpuff to the cafe, and you’ll receive two Whipped Dreams, which are needed to evolve Swirlix into a Slurpuff.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A has unique evolution needs, so be sure to check out side quests for helpful items. You might need these rewards to evolve your Pokemon, so it’s worth keeping an eye out!
