How to Get and Use the Pirate King Hat in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, the Pirate King Hat is a special helmet that helps players find hidden treasure. Since many of the game’s best items are concealed in unexpected places, this hat is incredibly useful. It alerts you to nearby treasure, ensuring you never miss a valuable discovery while exploring.

How to Get the Pirate King Hat

You can find the Pirate King Hat on the Singing Catfish, a pirate ship sailing in the ocean east of Reedwind Valley. It’s located between the Steel Mountains and the Mount of Frozen Souls – the same area where you battled the Reed Devil in Chapter 3.

  1. From the Reedwind Valley, jump off the cliff to the east and reach the shores below.
  2. Look for a boat along the beach and climb on top of it.
  3. Press the “Operate” prompt when it appears to start manning the boat.
  4. Steer the boat through the mines to the east until you reach The Singing Catfish in the middle of the ocean. Climb to the top deck and defeat the pirate crew that attacks you.

  5. Go down the stairs to the lower deck and go through the door directly in front to enter a room with a treasure chest.
  6. Open the chest to obtain the Pirate King Hat.

How to Use the Pirate King Hat

In the game Crimson Desert, the Pirate King Hat automatically finds treasure thanks to its “Detect Treasure” ability. Unlike some other items, like the Marni Laser Helmet, you don’t need to activate it – it works all the time without you pressing any buttons.

The Pirate King Hat has a special ability called Detect Treasure. When you wear the hat and get close to treasure, the white feather on its edge will light up brightly, letting you know you’ve found something valuable.

The white glow of the Pirate King Hat can be difficult to see when it’s very bright outside, so be sure to look carefully when you’re exploring during the day.

Okay, so the Pirate King Hat doesn’t actually show you where the treasure is, it just lets you know you’re getting close. If I wander too far away, the glow stops, but as soon as I get back in range – about 10 meters or so – it lights up again. It’s like a proximity sensor for loot!

The Pirate King Hat only finds treasure chests, not individual valuable items or anything else placed directly in the game world.
