In Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, the Bicycle helps trainers get around the game world much faster, and it’s required to access the Cycling Road. Players can buy a Bicycle fairly early in the game, but it’s incredibly expensive – it originally costs a full 1,000,000 Poke Dollars!

How to Get Bicycle in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen
In Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, you can obtain a free bicycle by receiving a Bike Voucher from the President of the Pokémon Fan Club in Vermilion City and exchanging it for a bike at the Bike Shop in Cerulean City.
You can find the Pokemon Fan Club building right above the Vermilion Gym – it has a Pokeball logo. Inside, look for the Chairman, an older man with a white beard who’s sitting next to a woman on the couch. If you chat with him about Pokemon, he’ll happily give you a free Bike Voucher.
Reaching Vermilion City
In Cerulean City, find the house with the blue roof – it’s the one with a police officer standing outside. Enter through the back door and follow the path shown in the image to get to Route 5.
Find the entrance to the Underground Path in the southeast part of Route 5, right next to the Day Care. It will take you to Route 6. From there, head south to arrive in Vermilion City.
Okay, so if that police officer is stopping me from going through, it means I haven’t talked to Bill yet. He’s the guy who gives you the S.S. Ticket, and you can find him at his cottage up north of Cerulean City, on Route 25. Gotta go find him first, apparently!
Getting the Bike Voucher
Head to the southwestern part of the city and locate the Vermilion Gym. Right above the gym, you’ll find a house with a green roof and a Poke Ball symbol over the entrance. Go inside, and you’ll see four people gathered around a table.
The Pokemon Fan Club Chairman – the man in the brown suit with a white beard who’s sitting at the head of the table – will talk about his love for Pokemon if you speak to him. If you listen, he’ll give you a free Bike Voucher as a thank you.
Getting a Bicycle
Head back to Cerulean City and go to the Bike Shop in the southwest part of town. Speak to the shop owner at the counter, and they’ll give you a free Bicycle in exchange for your Bike Voucher.
To start riding your new bike, find it in your Bag under Key Items and choose it. For quick access later, you can register the bike, which lets you instantly use it by pressing Select.
The Bicycle costs 1,000,000 Poke Dollars in the store. However, because players can only hold a maximum of 999,999 Poke Dollars in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, it’s impossible to purchase the Bicycle with the money you have in the game.
