Charcadet is now available in Pokémon Legends Z-A with the Mega Dimension DLC! If you’re interested in obtaining this unique Pokémon and evolving it into Ceruledge or Armarouge, here’s everything you need to know about how to find and evolve it.
This guide will show you everything you need to catch and evolve Charcadet into either Armarouge or Ceruledge. Since you can only choose one, we’ll also compare their stats and moves to help you decide which one is best.
How To Catch And Evolve Charcadet in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension
This Pokémon appears randomly in 1-Star and 2-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones. Players can catch it by surveying these rifts with Ansha, who runs the Donut Shop, as part of the Secondary Mission, ‘Bitter Blue Flames vs. Blazing Crimson’.
After you obtain a Charcadet, you’ll need to find an NPC who can provide the item required for its evolution. To evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge, you’ll need the Malicious Armor. If you want to evolve it into Armarouge, you’ll need the Auspicious Armor instead.
Players can find the NPC who sells these two evolution items by going to the bridge northwest of Racine Construction. Look for the bridge that has a path leading up and down from it. The NPC, named Adver, will be waiting underneath with a symbol indicating he has a Side Mission.
First, exhaust all conversation options with Adver. Then, when the time comes, you’ll need to decide between choosing Ceruledge or Armarouge – he’ll help you with that difficult decision.
Here’s what happens: players choose a challenge and then face Adver in a one-on-one battle. If they win, they’ll get a Gold Bottle Cap and five regular Bottle Caps – a fantastic reward for completing this side mission! These Bottle Caps are key to fully powering up your Ceruledge or Armarouge.
Should You Pick Armarouge or Ceruledge In Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension?
To help players choose between Armarouge and Ceruledge in Pokemon Legends Z-A, let’s compare them and see which one fits better with their existing team.
When choosing armor from Adver, players need to consider their decision carefully. The game doesn’t allow you to save and reload to try a different set. Once you select an armor piece, the game saves automatically, and that choice is final.

Charcadet |
Ceruledge |
Armarouge |
- is a Fire/Ghost Pokemon with a BST of 525 (Pretty Average) and a focus on Atk and Sp. Def. It’s not a particularly fast Pokemon (85 Speed), so it takes a bit for it to move around and attack. Still, it has some pretty interesting moves like Shadow Claw, Bitter Blade, and Flare Blitz, and can even learn Solar Blade. Still, Ceruledge is a good Pokemon to carry around (B+ Tier) for the Main Story and PvE. It gains considerable advantage over Armarouge, so in a 1v1 Fight, it will take the lead in nine out of ten bouts.
- is a Fire/Psychic Pokemon, a combination that is a bit rare (only three Pokemon have it, and one of them is currently unavailable in the mainline games), so it goes nicely against Pokemon like Lucario (Fighting/Steel). It’s the absolute opposite of Ceruledge, since it has Def and Sp. Atk as its primary stats. Armarouge learns moves like Psychock and Armor Cannon (which are its signature moves). It does well against Special attackers, though it’s a bit slow and can become vulnerable, especially against Ceruledge, which has a type advantage.
Ultimately, the best choice between these two Pokémon depends on how each player prefers to play. While both are decent in raids and battles against computer-controlled opponents, they aren’t commonly used in player-versus-player battles, and how effective they are in combat is questionable.
