Free Matches
You can unlock special abilities called Custom Passives by winning free matches when playing on Legendary Hero difficulty. If you’re new to this, here’s how to access that game mode. At the end of each winning match, you’ll get a random selection of these Custom Passives.
- Select Competition Mode on the main menu.
- Select Free Match.
- Choose the team that you want to play against, and select Legendary Hero.
Legendary Hero teams are made up of only Legendary characters, and all of them are at least Level 70. If you want to win against these teams, you’ll need to spend time building up your own strong squad. Luckily, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road offers several ways to level up quickly, so it shouldn’t take long to create a team that can compete and win.
Skilled players can defeat challenging ‘Legendary Hero’ teams in regular gameplay well before reaching level 70 with their own team. However, if you want to use ‘Commander Mode’ – accessed by tapping the button in the bottom-left corner – to earn special upgrades, you’ll need a team that’s almost at level 70.
How to Use Custom Passives in Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road
Once you’ve unlocked Custom Passives, go to the Team Dock – you’ll find it in both Chronicle and Competition modes. Choose a character who is level 50 or higher, then open their Abilearn Board and find the last node, which is where you equip Custom Passives. Simply select the slot and choose the Custom Passive you want to use.
As a player, I really like how Custom Passives work in Victory Road. You can switch them around on your characters whenever you want, and you don’t have to worry about losing a Passive if you decide it’s not working for you. It’s super flexible, which is great!
