How to Get Drywood Logs in Hytale

In the game Hytale, Drywood is a specific kind of wood needed to fully upgrade your Farmer’s Workbench to the highest level. You can only get Drywood Logs from two types of trees, and you won’t find them in the beginner areas of the game.

This guide helps players discover which trees become Drywood in Hytale, and where to find those trees. Fortunately, Drywood trees are common and shouldn’t be too hard to locate if you know the right areas to search.

How to Get Drywood Logs in Hytale

Where to Find Drywood

In Hytale, you can only get Drywood by chopping down Dry trees and Bottletrees with a Hatchet. Both of these tree types are found in the Golden Steppes, the desert area of the Howling Sands (Zone 2). You’ll need either Drywood or Bottletrees to upgrade your Farmer’s Workbench to Tier 7.

Dry Logs

Dead trees feature distinctive brown bark and pale yellow leaves. They’re generally slender, with narrow branches and relatively thin trunks. Sometimes, light green vines grow up the trunks, and you’ll need to cut these away to reveal the bark beneath.

You can find Gumbaob trees in deserts within the game Hytale. They’re easy to spot because of their huge trunks – they’re 10 to 15 blocks wide! Their wood is known as Lightwood.

Bottletree Logs

Bottletrees are known for their light gray bark marked with black patterns and their light green leaves. They generally resemble Dry trees, featuring slender trunks and sparse branches. However, some Bottletrees grow to be quite short, reaching only 4 to 8 blocks in height.

Okay, so as a Hytale fan, I’ve run into a bit of a frustrating bug! Right now, when you chop down Bottletrees, you actually get Birch Logs instead of the Bottletree Logs you’re expecting. The developers are aware of it and are planning a fix in a future update, but for now, the only way to get Bottletree Logs is to spawn them in using creative mode. It’s a bit annoying, but hopefully, it’ll be sorted out soon!
