In the updated version of “Horizon Zero Dawn”, known as the “Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered”, you’ll find a unique perk: the ability to wear the visuals of two different outfits simultaneously. However, this feature is exclusive to the remastered edition and wasn’t present in the original game. A recent update for the Remastered version has introduced a ‘transmogrification’ feature, enabling players to maintain the stats and effects of one outfit while adorning another for a more appealing look. No longer do you have to compromise on appearance for the sake of beneficial stats!
Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method
As a fashion enthusiast, if you’re aiming to blend two outfits for a unique look, there are some crucial points to bear in mind. The method I’ll share doesn’t work with every outfit out there. While you can pick any outfit that catches your eye, the second one should be one of these three specific options:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (only available in New Game Plus)
To begin with, the strategy outlined previously isn’t applicable from the onset of the game because the outfits stated earlier are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC zone. However, you’ll be pleased to know that you don’t have to finish the main game to get entry into this additional content.
How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
To get started, advance to the expansion zone by overcoming the latest machine. Should you find yourself struggling, consider reducing the difficulty level or improving your equipment first. After reaching this area, seek out any Bluegleam Merchant (identified by a blue Merchant symbol) and buy the Banuk Werak Runner outfit using Bluegleam.

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
To obtain the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you should finish the “For the Werak” quest. This is the third major quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC expansion. It’s recommended to wear your best equipment for this task as it can be quite demanding. If you find the challenge too tough, you can always switch to Story mode to make the quest easier and unlock the outfit more swiftly.
The process to acquire the Adept version is the same, but it can only be done in NG+.
After acquiring the second costume, I find myself fully prepared. If I so choose, I can forego delving deeper into the captivating world of “The Frozen Wilds” without any further obligation or quest.
What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits
First, choose any outfit that suits you best, making sure it has the desired stats. Remember, you can enhance an outfit’s stats using Weaves. After deciding on your preferred starting outfit, apply the look of one of these three outfits using the transmog function. Although these outfits don’t boost additional stats, they do provide self-healing after enduring damage for a while.
With this approach, you can track the statistics of your preferred ensemble and simultaneously acquire the self-healing attribute from any of those ensembles. If your initial outfit is Shield Weaver, you’ll be virtually indestructible because you’ll rarely sustain damage. In the unlikely event that harm does come your way, the self-healing trait from the Banuk Werak outfits will activate automatically after a brief interval.
If you own either the Chieftain or Chieftain Adept outfits, their healing properties become active more quickly compared to the Banuk Werak Runner outfit. It’s recommended that you opt for these outfits when possible.
