Okay, so Chandelure is seriously powerful in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but getting one is a real challenge! It’s not just that Litwick and Lampent – the Pokemon you evolve into Chandelure – are hard to find in the wild, but even if you find them, evolving them isn’t as simple as just leveling up. You need to do something specific to get them to become a Chandelure, which makes it a bit of a process.
Okay, so I’m really trying to get Litwick, Lampent, and ultimately Chandelure in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. I’ve been looking all over for a clear guide on where to find them and exactly how to evolve them, and here’s what I’ve figured out so far.
How to Get Litwick and Lampent in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Litwick Location
You can find the Lumiose Sewers in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. They become available during Main Mission 19, “Reaching Rank D,” when you’re searching for Gwynn of the Fist of Justice. To unlock the entrance, you’ll need to freeze a water fountain using a Pokemon that knows the move Ice Beam.
Once you’ve finished the main mission, you can go back to the Lumiose Sewers by starting the side quest, “The Camerupt Entrepreneur” (you can find its location on the map). To begin, go to the Blue Sector 3 and find Herup, the Camerupt trainer, near the entrance to the sewers. Talk to him to activate the quest, and he’ll move aside, allowing you to enter the sewers.
Lampent Location
In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Litwick evolves into Lampent at level 41. Players who find and catch a Litwick in the Lumiose Sewers can simply raise it to level 41 to trigger the evolution.
Trainers can also find Lampent by catching it in Wild Zone 17 at night. This area becomes available after you finish Main Mission 24 and reach Rank C.
How to Evolve Lampent into Chandelure in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Lampent Evolution Level
In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you can instantly evolve a Lampent into a Chandelure by using a Dusk Stone. Unlike some evolutions, there’s no level requirement – you can get a Chandelure as soon as you have a Lampent, or even right after it evolves from a Litwick.
It is also possible to catch a wild Chandelure as an Alpha Pokemon in in the post-game.
After you finish Main Mission 20, “A Request from the Rust Syndicate,” you can buy Chandelure’s Mega Stone, Chandelurite, for 360 Mega Shards at the Quasartico Mega Shard Exchange.
Dusk Stone Locations in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
There are three ways to get a Dusk Stone to evolve Lampent into Chandelure in PLZA:
- Dusk Stones can be purchased from the Stone Emporium for 3,000 Poke Dollars each after the main story has been completed.
- Dusk Stone is one of the rewards for completing Side Mission 83: Honedge’s Cutting Edge, which unlocks after Main Mission 25: Reaching Rank C.
- There are six Dusk Stones that can be found as glowing red Poke Balls in various areas across Lumiose City. The locations of all six Dusk Stones in PLZA (as well as other evolution stones) are displayed in the map below.
Besides evolving Lampent into Chandelure, Dusk Stones can also transform Doublade into Aegislash.
