Galarian Slowpoke and its evolved forms, Galarian Slowking and Galarian Slowbro, are the only regional Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Because you only get one of each per game, it’s important to evolve it carefully. This guide will show you how to add them to your collection.
Discover how to complete the Secondary Missions needed to obtain Galarian Slowpoke, as well as the Galarica Wreath and Galarica Cuff, which are essential for evolving it into either of its unique forms.
How to Get Galarian Slowpoke in Pokemon Legends Z-A
To get a Galarian Slowpoke and evolve it, you’ll first need to catch a regular Slowpoke. You can find them in the Wild Zone 11.
After finishing Main Mission 14, “Canari Quiz Contest,” you’ll unlock Secondary Mission #39, “Slowpoke for Slowpoke.” To begin this mission, head to Wild Zone 10 and find Quille, an NPC located on South Boulevard.
Exchange a common Slowpoke with him to get a Galarian Slowpoke. You’ll need to continue playing the main story to be able to evolve it.
How to Get Galarica Wreath & Galarica Cuff to evolve Galarian Slowpoke in Legends Z-A
To evolve Galarian Farfetch’d, players need a Galarica Cuff. To evolve Galarian Slowpoke, they need a Galarica Wreath.
These items are originally found on the Isle of Armor, far from Lumiose City. So, finding them there seems unlikely—unless you know a secret spot.
Head to the Battle Court in Vert Sector 9, located near Wild Zone 1, and find the NPC named Touri. She’ll tell you she visited the Isle of Armor and wants to battle, showing off her unique Pokémon. This Side Mission, number 75, called ‘Some Unusual Pokémon,’ asks you to defeat her team, which includes Galarian Slowbro and Slowking.
After defeating her in battle, she’ll give players both the Galarica Cuff and Galarica Wreath. The big question now is: which form should players choose for their Galarian Slowpoke?
Should You Evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro or Galarian Slowking?
Galarian Slowbro and Galarian Slowking are both Poison and Psychic-type Pokémon, which is different from the original Slowbro and Slowking, who are Water and Psychic-type. The biggest difference between these two Galarian forms is how their stats are distributed.
- Galarian Slowbro is more focused on Physical Defense and HP, while also having decent Special Attack. All other stats are cut down to negligible levels, especially its speed.
- Galarian Slowking is focused on Special Defense and HP, and has a little extra Special Attack, and more versatility in terms of movepool, since it can learn more moves using TM.
Unfortunately, these Pokémon don’t have Mega Evolutions, which limits their potential and makes them less effective in competitive battles. Therefore, players should choose whichever one they prefer, as there’s no significant difference in how well they perform in competitive play or challenging endgame PvE content.
