Mega Golurk is a standout addition in the Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC, and trainers will be excited to add this strong Ghost/Ground-type to their Pokémon teams.
Mega Golurk is incredibly strong and durable, though not the fastest Pokémon. It can easily defeat many powerful physical attackers before they even get a turn. If you’re interested in learning how to Mega Evolve Golurk – including where to find the Golurkite needed for the evolution, the best moves to teach it, and how to distribute Effort Values – this guide has everything you need.
How to Get Mega Golurk In Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC
You can get Mega Golurkite by defeating Rogue Mega Golurk in special 4-Star Unknown Mega Stone Distortions (marked in yellow) that appear throughout Lumiose City. These Distortions will randomly show up on your map, but you need to own the Mega Dimension DLC and have finished at least the Third Hyperspace Lumiose Survey mission to see them.
Players can wait on a bench or return to their Hotel Room to refresh the map’s Distortions, helping them find Rogue Mega Evolution Distortions and Side Quests more easily.
When players find the correct Distortion, they’ll encounter Mega Golurk on a hill. It’s a powerful opponent, so avoid using Bug, Rock, Fighting, Normal, Electric, or Poison-type Pokémon, as they won’t be very effective.
Instead, use a strong Dark-type attacker, such as Mega Absol with its Z-Move. Be careful of Phantom Force, though – Mega Golurk uses it a lot, and like Dig, it makes it temporarily immune to attacks.
Okay, so this thing is seriously tough! You really have to take your time and slowly wear it down, making sure to dodge its attacks and heal your Pokemon when they need it. But trust me, it’s worth it – defeating it lets you Mega Evolve your Golurk, which is awesome!
Is Mega Golurk Any Good In Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension PvP & PvE?
Mega Golurk has impressive stats – a total of 583 – which is almost as high as those of powerful ‘Pseudo-Legendary’ Pokémon. However, this isn’t quite enough to make it effective in player-versus-player (PvP) battles. Unfortunately, despite its size and strength, Mega Golurk is very slow, and it struggles against faster, more aggressive Pokémon commonly used in the meta, like Mega Z, Mega, and even Mega, all of which can attack before it does.
This creature has a really unbalanced stat distribution. It gets a huge increase to its Attack power, but very little Health or Defense, making it fragile despite being intended as a strong physical attacker. Ultimately, its stats are poorly allocated, leaving it vulnerable.
To make up for its weaknesses, players should use one of these EV spreads: 252 Attack / 252 HP or Defense / 4 Speed, or 252 Defense / 252 HP / 4 Special Defense. A Jolly nature is best to help with its low speed. Because this Pokémon primarily attacks physically, increasing its Special Attack isn’t necessary.
The best moves for Mega Golurk are generally considered to be Phantom Force, Earthquake, Shadow Punch, and Scorching Sands. Some players also choose Dynamic Punch for increased power, or Drain Punch to help it stay in the battle longer.
