As I’ve journeyed across the sprawling Great Sea in Zelda: The Wind Waker, a longing to revisit my home on Outset Island and catch up with grandma has been growing. Throughout the game’s narrative, I’ll eventually find myself back on Outset Island, tasked with seeking Jabun. This opportunity will allow me to greet the friendly villagers of my beloved homeland once more.
Visit Link’s grandmother’s residence, as she lies unwell, murmuring about Link and Aryll during slumber. To acquire Grandma’s Soup (known as Elixir Soup in the game), players of Wind Waker must discover a method to revive Link’s grandmother and restore her vitality.
Zelda: The Wind Waker – Grandma’s Soup Effects
In the game titled “The Wind Waker“, Grandma’s Soup, or as it is sometimes known, Elixir Soup, is one of the strongest potions available. Upon consumption, not only does it instantly restore your Health and Magic meters to full capacity, but it also temporarily allows you to dish out damage that’s double the standard amount.
The 2x damage boost persists until Link receives his next injury, meaning if you play cautiously and defensively, you can maintain the boost for as long as needed. Notably, the Elixir Soup stands out because it comes with two servings – unlike other potions in Wind Waker, you can utilize an Elixir Soup twice, but remember, each bottle only holds a single dose.
How To Get Grandma’s Soup In The Wind Waker
As a gamer, I’ve got to tell ya, to snag Grandma’s Soup, there are a couple of steps we gotta follow first. You see, you’ll need to grab a Bottle and then nab a Fairy. Now, the Bottle, you can pick up at Dragon Roost Island during the main quest, but if you wanna stockpile ’em, keep an eye out for more Bottle spots scattered throughout the game.
Fairies, they’re usually found just outside of dungeon boss doors or sometimes hidden in patches of grass. So, exploration and a keen eye will be your best friends on this quest!
As a gamer, I journeyed through the game’s primary narrative until I was given a quest: locating the colossal fish spirit, Jabun, who dwells at the back of Outset Island. Using my Bombs, I managed to break down the barrier leading to his lair. After conversing with Jabun, I made my way back to the mainland of Outset Island and stepped into grandma’s house.
Approach Link’s Grandma, stand by her side, then release the fairy from the bottle. This will cause her to be enveloped by the fairy, which will heal her. From that moment onward, you’ll be able to engage in conversation with Link’s grandmother to receive a portion of Elixir Soup, as long as you have an empty Bottle at your disposal.
