Mega Evolutions return in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but getting every Mega Stone isn’t possible just by playing through the main game. If you want to Mega Evolve Greninja, you’ll need to go the extra mile. Unlike other Mega Evolutions unlocked with Mega Stones purchased at the Stone Emporium in Lumiose City, Mega Greninja requires a special, unique item. How to Get Mega Greninja in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

If you want to use Mega Greninja in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, you’ll need to obtain Greninjite. This special stone lets Greninja transform into its Mega Evolved form during battles. Simply equip Greninja with Greninjite, and once you’ve built up enough energy, it will Mega Evolve!

The tricky part about getting Greninjite is that it’s only available through online ranked battles in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. During Season 1, you’ll earn it by reaching rank K in the Z-A Battle Club. After the season is over, a different Mega Stone will be offered as a reward. You can access ranked battles through the Link Play menu.

Reaching rank K isn’t very difficult, and the four-player battles make it easier to improve even if you’re new to competitive play. You can earn the Greninjite from the Z-A Battle Club Season 1 until November 6, 2025.

Greninjite can only be obtained in Pokemon Legends: Z-A – it isn’t available for purchase anywhere in the game, so don’t delay! You’ll first need to catch a Froakie to evolve it into Greninja, but luckily, the starter Pokemon from the Kalos region are fairly easy to find in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
