Advancing through Blue Prince relies on multiple choices and objects, among which keys are crucial. Not all paths are accessible, and these keys can also open treasure chests containing useful resources for finishing the game.

In the game Blue Prince, since the roguelike aspects make Mt. Holly’s layout, items, and conditions different each time you enter it, you need to adapt your strategy every time. However, the basic gameplay loop remains the same: locating Room 46. To achieve this efficiently, you should methodically plan a route that leads you straight to your objective.

Barriers will certainly make your trip more challenging: Locked gates, scarcity of supplies, and hurdles. When it comes to scarcity of supplies, you won’t find a better solution than keys.

How to Get More Keys in Blue Prince

In the drafted rooms, you’ll discover the keys, which can be found out in the open, as a reward for finishing mini-games, as additional benefits for Constellation, and by purchasing them in Blue Prince.

The keys are located within the drafted rooms, scattered openly, given as rewards for completing minigames, offered as bonuses for Constellation, and purchasable in Blue Prince.

Constellations

In the Blue Prince, there’s a space known as the Observatory. As its name implies, it’s a room equipped with a massive telescope and an opening in the ceiling for viewing. By adjusting the telescope correctly by maneuvering the wheels, you’ll discover a surprise—something unpredictable.

If you’re lucky, the “Clavis, the Key” Constellation will appear, which gives you +1 Key.

Drafting Rooms

Typically, The Closet contains around two items, one of which could be a Key. I’ve also kept an additional Key in both the Nook and the Storeroom. What makes this setup interesting is that you are assured of finding a Key if you designate a room with the Key symbol!

Exploring

Occasionally, you’ll find keys in various rooms without warning, and it’s always a good idea to search every room meticulously since they might contain useful items or supplies. This habit can come in handy when you least expect it.

Locksmith

In the locksmith’s chamber, they offer “Keys for Purchase” using Coins as payment. You can locate these Coins all around Mt. Holly, so remember to hoard them if you encounter the locksmith and require a key. However, watch out for the chapel that deducts one Coin from your possession each time you step inside it.

Minigames

In the course of my adventures, I’ve come across two mini-games: The Parlor Game and the Darts Puzzle located within the Billiards Room. Typically, finishing these games provides an opportunity for a Key to show up as a reward.
