As a Borderlands 4 player, I’m sure most of us have found tons of awesome Legendary weapons, Shields, and Class Mods by now. But there’s this one Legendary item that’s a little harder to find, and it’s totally worth getting: the Legendary Enhancement. Since Enhancements boost specific weapon types and manufacturers, you really want the best – a fully Legendary one – to complete your loadout. These Legendary Enhancements give you two perks instead of just one, which is a huge power boost! But the big question is, where do you even find these things?

How to Get Legendary Enhancements in Borderlands 4
Okay, so getting Legendary Enhancements is kinda tricky. There aren’t any specific enemies or bosses that *guarantee* they’ll drop. Basically, they only come from random world loot, which means the drop rate is super low. To give myself a better chance, I always make sure I’m playing on Ultimate Vault Hunter Rank 5. UVHM5 boosts the overall Loot Quality, so bosses, Badasses, and chests are way more likely to drop Legendary items instead of just the usual stuff. But honestly, I’ve actually had the most luck finding Legendary Enhancements by running Vile Bounties in UVH1.
Alternatively, you could fight a boss you’re comfortable with and can defeat quickly. We suggest Splashzone in the Riptide Grotto, found in the Coastal Bonescape, Fadefields. If you’re specifically farming a boss for its Legendary items, feel free to do that and hope for an extra Legendary Enhancement drop. If you want to fight more enemies to try and get the Legendary Enhancement faster, consider Ripper Drill Sites, such as the Foundry Freaks at “The Pitted Stain” in Idolator’s Noose, Fadefields. This gives you three bosses to increase your chances, plus a lot of Rippers to kill for additional random drops. The final option is any Primordial Guardian from the Vaults, which drop a lot of loot and also give you 4 Red Chests, each of which could contain a Legendary Enhancement.

What Do Legendary Enhancements Do in Borderlands 4?
Legendary Enhancements now offer 2 unique special effects instead of just one. All Enhancements still include a standard perk – for example, Jakobs’ “Piercer” gives Jakobs-branded guns a 20% chance to score a Critical Hit. However, they can *also* come with an extra perk, such as “Leaper,” which grants Jakobs guns a 40% chance to ricochet non-Critical Hits. This means a single Enhancement can provide 2 perks tailored to specific gun types, *and* 2 general perks, like increased Assault Rifle Reload Speed and overall Gun Damage! It appears each weapon manufacturer has its own Legendary Enhancement, so fans of Vladof, Jakobs, and others should look for the Enhancement designed for their favorite brand.
