Pokémon Legends: Z-A features several new Pokémon that can Mega Evolve, but unlocking Mega Delphox and obtaining the Delphoxite needed to achieve it will require some effort.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A introduces Mega Evolution with different methods for each Pokémon. However, evolving the Kalos starters into their Mega forms has specific requirements that may be challenging for some players at first.
Here’s everything you need to know about obtaining Delphoxite and Mega Evolving Delphox in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Where to Find Delphoxite & Get Mega Delphox in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Okay, so here’s the deal with getting Delphoxite. Right now, it looks like you can only snag it in Pokémon Legends: Z-A by battling in the Online Ranked Battles during Season 2. They haven’t fully explained exactly what you need to do to earn it yet, but that’s the plan for now. Also, just so you know, Mega Evolution isn’t even a thing in the game *right now*, so we’ll have to wait for that!
The first season of Legends: Z-A, featuring awards including Greninjite, will conclude on November 5, 2025. The next season will start shortly after, and with it, Delphoxite will be offered as a special reward for a limited time, lasting until the end of Season 2.
We anticipate that unlocking Mega Delphox will work the same way as unlocking Mega Greninja: you’ll need to reach Rank K in online battles. Keep in mind that your rank and progress are reset at the beginning of each new season.
While there’s no official release date yet for the second season of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, if the first season is anything to go by, it will likely last about three weeks and finish around November 26th.
Will Delphoxite be Available Again?
Pokémon has announced that Delphoxite and other Mega Evolution Stones earned through Online Ranked Battles will be available again after the current promotional period. Details about when and how these will be distributed are still to come.
Delphoxite might only be obtainable through online ranked battles for now. However, the original announcement about Mega Delphox and other Kalos starter Mega Evolutions mentioned that Mega Stones earned as rewards will be available again in future seasons.
So, I found out that you can’t actually *earn* Greninite, Delphoxite, or Chesnaughtite just by playing the game normally. They’re not available through regular gameplay, apparently.
We’ll share more information soon. It’s also unclear if this decision will change as the game continues, or if the new Mega Dimension DLC will offer different ways to get Delphoxite.
