Pokémon Legends: Z-A is getting a lot of new content with the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC, but players can enjoy some additions right now! Mega Diancie and the Diancite needed to unlock it are available in the game now.
An update released for Pokémon Legends: Z-A on December 5th initially appeared to be a standard patch. However, players soon discovered it added a new post-game quest that allowed them to obtain both Diancie and a brand-new Mega Diancie form.

How to Get Diancite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Diancite will be given away as a free Mystery Gift to all Pokémon Legends: Z-A players starting November 6, 2025.
Diancite is different from most other Mega Stones in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. You can’t buy it in shops, earn it by trading shards, or get it by defeating special Pokémon that Mega Evolve. It’s not available through normal gameplay.
Getting this Pokémon will work much like how Ralts and Gardevoirite were given to players who pre-ordered the game. Here’s a simple guide to the process:
- Load Pokémon Legends: Z-A
- Open the main menu
- Select ‘Link Play’
- Choose the ‘Mystery Gift’ option
- Select ‘Get via Internet’
- Wait while your console connects to the internet
- Select the reward from the list that appears
How to Get Diancie in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Okay, so I just found out that if you want to get Diancie in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you have to do a special side quest. But here’s the catch – you can only start that quest if you first claim the Diancite Mystery Gift! It’s a bit of a process, but I’m excited to add Diancie to my team!
Okay, so to start this mission, you gotta head over to the Looker Bureau. It’s in Rouge Sector 3, which is in the northeast part of the map, close to Wild Zone 3. Once you’re inside, talk to Emma’s Espurr, Mimi. She’ll sense a lot of psychic energy and then run off – and that’s your cue to follow her and Emma, which kicks off the ‘Shine Bright Like a Gemstone’ mission!
Use the plus button to follow the mission markers and directions to each location. The third location is a holovator – ride it up, then go around the buildings to the right. You’ll need to use Roto Glide to jump across a gap. When you arrive, you’ll find Emma and Espurr, and Diancie will appear with two Carbink.
Win against the three Pokémon you face, then try to catch Diancie. While a Masterball will make catching Diancie simpler, it’s not necessary. Don’t worry if Diancie escapes – the game saves automatically before the fight, so you can just try again!
