Snorunt is a special Pokémon because it can evolve in two different ways, and now it even has two Mega Evolutions! With the addition of Mega Froslass in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, trainers looking for a strong Ice-type Pokémon will definitely want to catch and train a Snorunt.
This guide provides everything trainers need to know about getting and evolving Snorunt, whether they want to add Glalie, Froslass, or their Mega Evolutions to their Pokémon team.
How to Find Snorunt in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Snorunt is a Pokémon you’ll definitely want on your team in Pokémon Legends Z-A. To find one, head to Wild Zone 12. This icy area, populated by Ice-type Pokémon, unlocks after you defeat Canari, achieve E-Rank, and progress to Main Mission 14.
In Legends Z-A, Snorunt evolves differently depending on its gender. Female Snorunt become Froslass, while male Snorunt become Glalie. To complete the Pokedex, you’ll need to catch one of each, even if you don’t plan on using them in your team.
How to Evolve Snorunt in Pokemon Legends Z-A
As we discussed earlier, Snorunt evolves differently depending on whether it’s male or female. To evolve Snorunt into Glalie, all you need to do is get it to level 42. Then, open the menu (by pressing X) and select ‘Evolve’ when you’re looking at Snorunt’s icon.
To evolve a female Snorunt into Froslass, players need a Dawn Stone. These can be bought at the Stone Emporium in Lumiose City, or sometimes found while exploring the game world.

Glalie and Froslass can become even stronger with Mega Evolution! You can find the Glalitite, needed to turn Glalie into Mega Glalie, by finishing Main Mission 10. After that, you can buy it from Quasartico INC for 240 Mega Shards.
To evolve Froslass into Mega Froslass, players must first complete Main Mission #27, “A Rogue Mega Froslass.” Defeating the Mega Froslass in this mission will reward you with the Mega Stone needed for evolution.
Glalie is a pretty good Ice-type Pokémon overall. It has a balanced stat total of 480, which is unusual, and when it Mega Evolves, that total increases to 580. Mega Glalie gets a boost in Speed, Special Attack, and Attack, making it a versatile Ice-type attacker.
Froslass stands out as an Ice and Ghost-type Pokémon, a rare combination in Pokémon Legends Z-A. It shares the same total stats as Glalie (480), but with some key differences: Froslass has lower HP, Defense, and Special Defense, but boasts higher Speed.
As a fan, I’ve noticed something really interesting with Froslass’s Mega Evolution! It only boosts three of its stats – Special Attack goes way up from 80 to 140, Special Defense increases to 100 from 70, and its Speed jumps to 120 from 110. This brings its total stat value, or BST, to 580. Honestly, these changes make Mega Froslass the go-to Ice-type attacker, and that Ghost typing gives it a nice edge against Fighting-types too!
