How to Get Mega Swampert in Pokémon Legends: Z-A—Swampertite Location, Explained

The Mega Evolution feature has been expanded in Pokémon Legends: Z-A with the Mega Dimension DLC, now including the starting Pokémon from the Hoenn region. Getting Mega Swampert, however, will take some time, as you’ll need to obtain the Swampertite item first.

So, I’m really excited because the starters from the Hoenn region – like, the ones from Ruby and Sapphire – are getting Mega Evolutions in the new DLC for Legends: Z-A! But the cool thing is, even if you don’t buy the DLC, you can still get all the returning Pokémon that are already in the game. It’s awesome that they’re making it accessible for everyone!

If you really want to get the Swampertite and Mega Evolve Swampert, TopMob has the information you’re looking for.

Where to Find Swampertite & Get Mega Swampert in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the item Swampertite can only be earned by playing Ranked Online battles during Season 6. The specific dates for Season 6 haven’t been revealed yet.

Each season in Pokémon Legends: Z-A typically lasts about three weeks. Because of this, Season 6 and the availability of the Swampertite are predicted to start in early February. Like past seasons, players will probably need to reach Rank S to obtain the Mega Stone.

Before Season 6 starts, you won’t be able to get Mega Swampert through normal gameplay, but you don’t need the Mega Dimension DLC to unlock it. You can get Swampert by trading with other players, and you can earn the Swampertite (the item needed to Mega Evolve Swampert) by earning ranked rewards.

Will Swampertite be Available Again?

Similar to how Mega Stones were previously given out in Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s Ranked Online battles, Swampertite will likely be available again at some point. However, you’ll probably need to participate in Ranked battles to get it.

After the first season of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Mega Stones that were originally top rewards became available again in later seasons at much lower ranks. With Season 7 marking the end of the initial distribution for the Swampertite, Season 8 is expected to feature all Mega Stones released as rewards up to that point.

As we’ve discussed, you’ll likely still need to participate in Ranked Battles to fully experience Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This means that accessing some Mega Evolutions will require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
