In the beginning of Outer Worlds 2, you’ll receive a Medical Inhaler. This is your main way to heal, but it doesn’t recharge automatically. After using it a few times, you’ll find that the inhaler’s charges aren’t refilling on their own.
In Outer Worlds 2, you won’t just automatically get more Inhaler uses. Instead, you’ll need to find ways to recharge them throughout the game world. You can do this by using AutoDoc stations, finding drug items that boost your Inhaler capacity, or unlocking the Connoisseur perk, which improves how often you can use your Inhaler.
Find an AutoDoc Station
AutoDocs Grant 2x Inhaler Charges in Outer Worlds 2
You’ll find AutoDoc stations in every location throughout Outer Worlds 2. Using one will fully restore your health, remove any harmful effects, and give you two full Inhaler charges at no cost. However, each AutoDoc station can only be used once to refill your Inhaler charges.
You can collect as many Inhaler Charges as you want – there’s no limit! Don’t hesitate to use them even when you’re at full or near-full health. While the AutoDoc will be used up, you’ll get two extra heals for later.
Collect Items That Grant A Percentage of a Charge
Some Items Reward Inhaler Charge Percent Upon Pickup
As you find items while playing, read their descriptions carefully. You’ll discover there are generally two kinds of things you can use: food and drinks, and drugs.
While most things you can use in Arcadia heal you, a few special items act like medicine, refilling your inhaler instead of restoring health.
These sensors are commonly used inside buildings, particularly in hospitals and research facilities.
These items don’t go into your inventory; instead, they’re used instantly to add to your Inhaler Charge, usually between 8% and 32% (or even more), as shown in the item’s description. If you fill the Inhaler bar completely (going over 100%), you’ll receive an extra Charge!
Pick the Connoisseur Perk For Additional Charges
The Connoiseur Perk Increases Charge Amount Gained from Drugs
To quickly get more Inhaler Charges in Outer Worlds 2, it’s best to get the Connoisseur perk as soon as you can. This perk boosts your health recovery from food and drinks by 25%, and importantly, gives you 25% more Inhaler Charge from using drugs.
The biggest advantage of the Connoisseur perk is that it only needs one Skill Point spent on Medical. Getting this perk early on lets you accumulate more charges as you play.
In Outer Worlds 2, this is the one perk that directly makes your Inhaler recharge faster. If you frequently use your Inhaler to heal, it’s a good idea to spend a Skill Point when you level up and a Perk Point when you reach an even level to get this helpful boost.
