As a seasoned gamer who has braved countless apocalypses and survived nuclear winters, I can confidently say that No More Room in Hell 2 is not for the faint-hearted. The slow shuffle of the undead hordes may be deceptive, but make no mistake, this game will test your mettle like none other.
Contrary to its seemingly casual presentation, No More Room in Hell 2 is actually quite challenging compared to many players’ expectations. While the zombies may seem sluggish, the risk of being overwhelmed is very high, and an unready player can quickly find themselves in a perilous situation once things don’t go according to plan. The characters’ skills play a crucial role, and it’s essential to strive for the most advantageous ones available.
Character abilities grant substantial advantages – certain ones can boost your weapon precision and endurance, while others directly amplify your damage potential. Acquiring these abilities is crucial for game advancement, and with No More Room in Hell 2 being touted as incredibly difficult, players will find it essential to acquire every edge possible to complete their objective and endure.
How to Unlock More Skills in NMRIH 2
New responders initially possess one passive ability connected to their occupation. To acquire additional skills, you must gather supply items during a mission and extract from it. Your character gains experience points after each match based on the amount of supplies they collect. As your character progresses and levels up, more skill slots will become available for them.
As a gamer, when I’m ready to learn a fresh ability, I navigate to the Character menu, which is usually found in the main hub. In this menu, I look for an empty slot on the bottom-left side of the screen. Clicking on that empty space will present me with a choice of three different skills. Remember, you can only select one skill per slot and there are no do-overs, so make your choices carefully.
Be aware that this game features permanent death. If your character perishes, both they and their acquired skills will be lost forever. Consequently, when you restart the game, you’ll need to build up a new Responder from scratch. Therefore, it would be wise to have some allies protecting your back while playing NMRIH 2.
Getting Additional Skills
You can broaden the variety of skills you can pick by simply advancing your account. Unlike personal progression, you accumulate account experience points by accomplishing tasks. Whenever you get a chance, strive to connect with other players as quickly as possible, and then assist them in completing objectives scattered across the map.
Advancing your account will take considerably more time than advancing your in-game character. Players can swiftly progress their Responder from level 1 to 10 by gathering supplies and completing tasks. However, the experience points (XP) earned from accomplishing objectives for your account are relatively small, so be prepared to invest a significant amount of time into the game if you aim to unlock all the skills. Notably, the permadeath feature in NMRIH 2 does not influence the XP gained on your account.
Take note that some skills have pre-requisites. For example, the Overkill skill (increases the number of shotgun pellets you fire) requires the Hellfire skill (improves your hip-fire accuracy with weapons). In order to make a build, you’ll need to know which skill unlocks what.
