How to Get Needle Strike in Silksong

As a devoted Hollow Knight enthusiast, I must say that what sets this game apart from others isn’t just the show-stopping moves and special abilities at your disposal. There’s an understated yet powerful feature: holding down the attack button for a charged attack, dealing extra damage to the enemy. This strategic move is still alive and well in Hollow Knight: Silksong, though it takes until the end of Act 1 before you can get your hands on it.

The journey towards acquiring this skill isn’t overly complex, but it does involve defeating a formidable boss known for its destructive double masks. This guide provides details on where to find ‘Needle Strike’ in the game Hollow Knight: Silksong.

Silksong: How to Get Needle Strike (Charged Attack)

To obtain the “Needle Strike”, first navigate your way to the “Blasted Steps”. This location is found towards the far-left side of the map, and it becomes accessible once you acquire the “wall jump” skill in “Shellwood”.

From the “Bellway Station” in “Shellwood”, proceed right and descend until you can head left. Continue on this path until you reach a bench; just before it, there’s a spot where you can climb up and access the bench on its right side, thereby opening the gate blocking the Bellway Station.

Once in Blasted Steps (which is the path to the left of the unlocked bench), travel all the way up until you find the “Blasted Steps’ BellwayStation” and a resting bench.

Make certain you engage with this bench, for it leads to a boss battle en route to acquiring the Needle Strike ability.

Instead of going back the same path, move forward but veer towards the left wall. When you notice a sign with a blue background, follow it to the left, and you’ll encounter the amazing Conchflies.

Great Conchflies and the Pinstress

The Great Conchflies are a challenging two-on-one boss encounter. During this battle, both Conchflies have the ability to inflict double mask damage. They work together in their attacks, so it’s essential to be aware of when and where they start drilling in and out. Occasionally, one of the Conchflies will cease its actions and launch a projectile at you, which can be dodged or attacked to deflect. A telltale sign that the boss is about to emerge from the ground is a trail of dust that appears. Once one of the bosses has been defeated, the other will retreat, concluding the fight.

After the skirmish, head more towards the left side. Traverse through the wriggling organisms beneath you. At the end of this trail, you’ll have to jump on the trampoline-like balls to proceed forward. This path will lead you to a structure up ahead, where you’ll encounter the Pinstress. Interact with her and she’ll grant you the Needle Strike skill. To use this ability, simply hold down the attack button.
