Destiny 2: At the Brink of Fortune introduces an innovative new weapon category, the Combat Bow. With the launch of Fortune’s Edge, there is currently only one Combat Bow available, called the Opaque Hourglass. This legendary Energy Ammo weapon offers players a crossbow-like experience in Destiny 2. It’s a blast for those who can acquire it and understand which perks to apply to get the best possible version of the Opaque Hourglass, often referred to as its god roll. Without any more delay, take a look at how to obtain this weapon and its god roll stats below.
How to Get Opaque Hourglass
The Opaque Hourglass is a unique loot obtained from the Desert Perpetual raid’s final encounter, Koregos, the Worldline. To acquire this item, players must have access to the ‘The Edge of Fate’ expansion and complete the associated campaign. After defeating the Epoptes, Lord of Quanta in the raid, players can farm Opaque Hourglass drops, with the initial drop granting unlimited farming opportunities without relying on weekly resets. Alternatively, players can spend 20 Spoils of Conquest at the raid vendor for an additional Opaque Hourglass drop, but they must have previously defeated Koregos to access this option.
Visually, the Opaque Hourglass is quite striking, but its perks may not deliver the damage potential that some players anticipate. However, there’s a recommended build for PvE play when focusing on boss damage.

Perk 1 | Field Prep |
Perk 2 | Vorpal Weapon |
Masterwork | Persistence |
Mod | Flight |

Using the Frictionless Rail upgrade will boost both the recharge time and shooting speed of the Opaque Hourglass weapon, making it more dependable in combat due to its sluggish effects. The best type of Bolt for the Opaque Hourglass is the Charged Bolts, which inflict continuous damage over time, allowing players to accumulate damage with other weapons by quickly switching between them and maintaining consistent, constant damage against enemies to stun and weaken them. For the first perk, Field Prep is a good option because the ammo for this weapon can be limited (especially when players aren’t collecting bolts), so increasing reload speed, stow speed, and ready speed while crouching helps keep the damage high against bosses. However, any perk can work depending on how players choose to use the Opaque Hourglass, but for maximum damage against Mini-Bosses and Bosses, the Vorpal Weapon perk will be a great choice as it offers a 10% damage bonus.
Opaque Hourglass is not viable for PvP, so there will be no God Roll provided for the Crucible.
