How to Get Padded Cloth in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

In the thrilling world of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, I find myself constantly seeking robust armor to withstand the perils of Ashenfall. Yet, crafting such protection isn’t always swift due to the need for Padded Cloth, a key ingredient for some of the game’s most resilient gear. It may seem straightforward, but the necessity for numerous expensive upgrades can hinder RuneScape: Dragonwilds players from swapping their early-game equipment as frequently as desired.

In the game RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Padded Fabric is a superior variant of the Common Cloth and Woolen Fabric that gamers can employ for creating fundamental armor and furniture items. However, unlocking this fabric involves some steps. Padded Fabric presents the initial challenge in RuneScape: Dragonwilds as the essential resources can only be gathered from tough areas inhabited by dangerous foes. Nevertheless, farming Padded Fabric becomes less daunting once players utilize their initial stock to craft improved equipment.

How to Get Padded Cloth in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

In simple terms, Padded Cloth is made by weaving together Wool Cloth and Rough Cloth using a Loom. However, since a standard Loom only has one input slot, a Loom Harness is necessary to enable this process. Crafting the Loom Harness demands Iron Bars and Ram Horns, which can be obtained by braving the Stormtouched Highlands to mine Iron Ore and exploring the Fractured Plains in search of Rams. Additionally, Ash Planks are essential for this task, so players must also construct a Sawmill on top of all their other tasks.

As a gamer, I know this quest can be quite the grind, especially when you need materials from those tricky high-level biomes. It’s not just the hunting that’s tough, but also keeping yourself safe. But fear not! Here are some simple strategies to score a bit of Padded Cloth without venturing too deep into the danger zone.

How to Build a Loom Harness in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

For many gamers at this point in the game, the primary hindrance to advancement is the Loom Harness – a device that enhances the Loom so it can work with two different materials simultaneously.

To initiate the process of making a Loom Harness, you’ll first need to smelt Iron Bars. Lucky for us, Iron Ore deposits are found exclusively in the Stormtouched Highlands, located west of the Fractured Plains. Fortunately, there are numerous ore veins right on the border between these two zones. By utilizing the Rocksplosion spell, players can efficiently gather a lot of Iron Ore without spending much time in harm’s way. Unlike Bronze Bars, Iron Bars are made solely from Iron Ore and no other materials. The map below indicates the optimal spot for mining Iron Ore.

As I navigate through this captivating virtual world, the Iron Bars dilemma seems to have been resolved, leaving me with just one major challenge: the Ram Horn requirement. The Fractured Plains are teeming with Sheep, but it’s only in the Stormtouched Highlands that you’ll find Rams. Interestingly, there are numerous Ram spawn points close to those Iron Ore deposits I mentioned earlier, allowing me to tackle both tasks during a single expedition. Once I’ve mined the Iron Ore, my next step is to place it in a trusty Furnace for smelting. It’s essential to note that Furnaces demand two resources: Clay and Charcoal, both of which can be effortlessly gathered from the nearby swamp area.

After gathering the required materials and building the Loom Harness, players can insert both Rough Fabric and Wool Fabric simultaneously to produce Padded Fabric in the Loom. These fabrics are derived from either Coarse Animal Fur or Soft Animal Fur (or Flax and Fleece for quicker crafting), making this another handy use for the animal hide scraps players gather during their hunting adventures. In “RuneScape: Dragonwilds,” it’s worthwhile to improve your Tannery at this point in the game, which will enable you to create Hard Leather and craft stronger armor components.
