The first part of the annual Halloween event in Pokémon GO starts today, October 21st, and lasts until October 27th at 10 AM local time. The most exciting part of this event is the arrival of the new Matcha Pokémon, Poltchageist and Sinistcha.

Pokemon GO: How to Get Poltchageist and Sinistcha
Halloween Event Part 1
During the Pokemon GO Halloween event, Poltchageist is only available through One-Star Raids. You won’t find it appearing more often in the wild, so if you want to catch one (or evolve it), you’ll need to battle in Raids.
In Pokémon GO, evolving Poltchageist into Sinistcha is simple: just collect 50 Poltchageist Candy. However, this only works if you catch the Counterfeit Form of Poltchageist. If you catch the Artisan Form, it takes a much larger 400 Candy to evolve it into Sinistcha’s Masterpiece form.

Okay, so with Poltchageist, there are two forms you can get. If your Poltchageist doesn’t have a little stamp on its bottom, it’s the regular ‘Counterfeit Form,’ and it evolves into Sinistcha with 50 Candy like normal. But if you’re lucky enough to find one with the stamp – it’s super rare! – that’s the ‘Artisan Form.’ The Artisan Form evolves into a different version, the Masterpiece form. It’s kinda cool having a rare one, honestly!
Okay, so I just learned how to check if my Poltchageist is the Sinister or Astral form! You gotta go to your Pokémon Storage, find it, and then hit the ‘Appraise’ button – it’s in that little menu with the three lines. Your team leader will tell you which form it is, which is super helpful!
