How to Get Poop in Hytale

In Hytale, poop might not sound glamorous, but it’s a key ingredient for making fertilizer! Fertilizer helps crops grow faster, which is super helpful if you want to speed up your farming and collect more resources. So, if you’re a farmer in Hytale, gathering a lot of poop is really important.

This guide explains how to collect animal waste, which animals produce it, and how to attract them to your base so you can create a reliable source of it.

How to Get Poop in Hytale

In Hytale, you can get poop from animals like pigs, cows, sheep, goats, horses, rams, and chickens. Most animals will naturally produce poop after a while, and some may also drop it when you interact with them.

Animals like horses, pigs, and rams naturally produce manure. Players can simply wait for these animals to do their business and then collect the manure from the ground. For example, if you encounter a group of horses, you’ll probably find some manure nearby.

Okay, so getting poop from animals like sheep, chickens, and cows takes a little more effort. For chickens and sheep, you need to craft Crude Shears at a Farmer’s Workbench and then use them on the animals. There’s a chance they’ll drop poop along with their usual drops – wool from sheep and white feathers from chickens!

Okay, so I’ve figured out how to get milk from cows and mosshorns! You just need an Empty Wooden Bucket – you can make that at a Farmer’s Workbench. When you use the bucket on them, you’ll get a bucket of milk (or mosshorn milk, if it’s a mosshorn) and there’s even a chance they’ll leave behind some poop, which is… handy, I guess!

Sheep, cows, and mosshorn also poop naturally (like horses and pigs), but chickens do not.

Best Animals for Getting Poop in Hytale

In Hytale, chickens, baby piglets, horses, and rams are the most useful animals for collecting droppings. This is because you can either trap chickens and piglets using a Capture Crate, or ride horses and rams to gather it.

You can carry animals back to your base using Capture Crates in your inventory. This lets you efficiently collect many animals on a single expedition, provided you have enough crates to hold them all.

Pigs cannot be caught in a Capture Crate, but baby piglets can.

If you encounter mounts while exploring, you can ride them back to your base and build a 1×1 fence around them to keep them contained. Horses and rams can’t jump over this simple fence, effectively trapping them. This also automatically creates a small stable area within your base.

As a Hytale player, I’ve learned that chickens are seriously the best animals to catch! Not only do they give you… well, chicken poop, but they also provide a never-ending supply of eggs and cheese. Those eggs and cheese are super useful for crafting and other things, so it’s totally worth focusing on chickens!

How to Use Poop in Hytale

In Hytale, you can create a Fertilizer Bag using poop at a Tier 3 Farmer’s Workbench. This fertilizer doubles the growth speed of your crops, meaning they’ll be ready to harvest much faster.

You can also throw poop as a projectile by right-clicking it while it’s selected in your hotbar. Each throw deals 5 to 6 points of damage.
