How to Get Rip Chips & San Van Bucks in Skate 4

The new Skate game from EA is free to play and constantly updated, meaning you’ll earn progress and unlock new items by playing and earning in-game money. There are two types of currency in Skate 4: Rip Chips and San Van Bucks. Learning how to earn these quickly will help you avoid repetitive gameplay and enjoy your time skating in San Vansterdam.

How to Get More Rip Chips in Skate 4

In *Skate 4*, Rip Chips are the primary currency used to advance in the game. You can easily earn these chips – identified by their orange logo – just by playing, so you won’t need to spend any real money to collect them.

The quickest way to earn Rip Chips is by completing the main story missions, as they give you far more Chips than daily challenges. Don’t forget to also finish the optional goals within those missions – they’ll give you even more rewards!

Daily challenges can earn you a few Chips, but they’re more of a bonus. You’ll get much bigger rewards by completing permanent missions and improving your Neighborhoods.

Playing with a friend lets you access special co-op missions that give you bonus Rip Chips for each challenge you complete. If you’re trying to earn a lot of Rip Chips quickly, playing with others is a really effective strategy.

Pay attention to your Rip Score! It goes up as you perform tricks, link combos, and skate freely around the city. Leveling up your Rip Score earns you bonus Chips in addition to the rewards you get from completing missions.

How to Get More San Van Bucks in Skate 4

San Van Bucks, marked by their pink logo, are the special in-game currency in Skate. You can’t earn them by playing the game – unlike Rip Chips – you have to purchase them directly from the store with real money.

Here are the San Van Bucks bundles currently available:

  • 500 SV Bucks for $4.99
  • 1,050 SV Bucks for $9.99
  • 2,800 SV Bucks for $24.99
  • 5,900 SV Bucks for $49.99
  • 12,000 SV Bucks for $99.99

I remember when they first let people try out the game, they gave us 250 SV Bucks as a thank you – it was a nice little boost! But now, for those of us who didn’t get in on that early access, the only way to get anything from the premium store is to buy it directly.

The shop has lots of cool items like outfits, boards, and accessories, but they cost San Van Bucks. This means you’ll need to decide if you want to spend real money to get unique looks in San Vansterdam.
