How to Get Sugar Cane in Fields of Mistria

As a seasoned adventurer and culinary enthusiast who has braved the treacherous terrains of Mistria, I find great joy in exploring new recipes and ingredients that can help sustain my journey. The table you’ve provided offers an intriguing array of dishes, each with its unique benefits to my HP and Stamina.

There are 11 types of seeds you can plant during summer in Fields of Mistria, and Sugar Cane Seeds are one of them. These crops take almost a full week to grow, but you can use Sugar Cane to make Sugar, which is used in a variety of recipes. Sugar Cane Seeds are available during Year 1, but you may be wondering if they’re worth planting. If you’re trying to increase your Cooking Skill, then you may want to consider planting a few seeds. This guide details everything you need to know about Sugar Cane in Fields of Mistria as of Early Access.

Where to Find Sugar Cane Seeds

Where to Buy Them

How to Get Sugar Cane in Fields of Mistria

You can buy one pack of Sugar Cane Seeds at the General Store in Mistria, but only if you’ve completed “Repair the General Store” story quest. This unlocks after you complete “The Mill Restoration Project,” “The Water Tablet”, and “Beautification Project” story quests. You will need to do the following to unlock the “Repair the General Store” quest:

How to UnlockRequired MaterialsHow to Complete
The Mill Restoration ProjectSpring 19
  • 1000 Tesserae
  • x150 Wood
  • x200 Stone
  • x2 Copper Ingot
Speak to Adeline after placing the materials (excluding the 1000 Tesserae) in the donation box.
The Water TabletReach Floor 20 of the Mines
  • x1 Lantern Moth
  • x1 Ruby
  • x1 Stone Loach
  • x1 Upper Mines Mushroom
Place the required materials on Floor 20 to break the Water Seal.
Beautification ProjectCheck mailbox the day after completing “The Mill Restoration Project”N/AMeet Adeline outside the manor.

In order to finish repairing the General Store, you will need to contribute these specified materials and Tesserae.

  • 3000 Tesserae
  • x300 Wood
  • x500 Stone
  • x5 Copper Ingots
  • x5 Iron Ingots

Once the store expands, you’ll have access to a wider variety of items. For instance, one Sugar Cane Seed costs 40 Tesserae and requires 6 days within the game to grow. When it matures, Sugar Cane can be sold for 80 Tesserae. Luckily, you won’t need to contribute any Sugar Cane to the Museum, so you can choose to either keep or sell the crop after it has grown. However, unlike Corn Seeds, Sugar Cane can only be harvested once and will not continue producing after a certain period.

After repairing the General Store, you can purchase mature Sugar Canes directly from Balor’s cart for 320 Tesserae.

How to Make Sugar

How Long to Make?

The best use of Sugar Cane is to make it into Sugar. The mill can be used to make Animal Products, Miscellaneous Items, and Milled Ingredients. Sugar requires x1 Sugar Cane, and takes 10 minutes in-game to make. Eating Sugar raw will restore 6 health/stamina points, and it can be sold for 100 Tesserae per bag. Thus, it’s much better to save Sugar Cane for making Sugar, and Sugar for cooking.

Another way you can get Sugar is by fishing up Treasure Boxes.

* The Ice Cream Sundae recipe isn’t accessible in Mistria‘s Early Access phase because it requires a Cooking Skill of 38, whereas players can only reach level 30 during Early Access. Once the game is fully released, players will be able to cook this recipe.

In some recipes where Sugar is an ingredient, those particular ingredients might only be available during certain seasons, such as seasonal finds like Pineshrooms and Wildberries. So, if you come across a recipe using Sugar, it would be wise to save these items until you reach the appropriate Cooking proficiency level.
