In StarRupture, you’ll constantly need resources to send back to the companies that brought you to the planet. Sulfur is the most difficult resource to find. It’s rarer than materials like Titanium and Wolfram, and you’ll need to meet specific requirements before you can even start collecting it on Arcadia-7. If you’re unsure how to get started, this guide will show you how to obtain Sulfur in StarRupture.
Where to Find Sulfur in StarRupture
Before you can get Sulfur, you’ll need to locate it. On Arcadia-7, Sulfur is easy to spot because it releases yellow fumes and turns the ground yellow. Be careful, though – walking on Sulfur deposits will cause corrosion damage.
You can find Sulfur relatively early in the game by heading north from your starting base, beyond Griffith’s Research Outpost. Keep going into the desolate area, and you’ll see yellow gas rising in the northeast – that’s the Sulfur.
We’ve located a couple more areas where you can find Sulfur, and we’ve included screenshots of those locations on the map below. Any Sulfur you discover will be highlighted in yellow on your map, so you can easily find your way back later.

After discovering Sulfur on the planet, you’ll need a Sulfur Extractor to collect it. This tool becomes available once you reach level 9 with the Slenian Corporation, making it a resource for later in the game. If you’re just starting, don’t worry about it for now – you’ll be ready when you unlock the Extractor.
Now that you have the Sulfur Extractor, get the Corrosion Resistance Plasma from the recipe station. This will protect you from corrosion, which you’ll need soon. To make the Corrosion Resistance Plasma, you’ll need to combine the following items at the Recipe Station:
- 40 Glowcap
- 25 Sulheart
- 100 Data Points
Now that’s taken care of, you need to wait for a rapture event to finish. While you wait, build a base and living space close to the Sulfur area – this will be very helpful later. Once the rapture is over and the temperature cools down, head outside and walk to the Sulfur source. You can then place your Sulfur Extractor, power it up, and set up the rest of your production line.
You need to wait until after a rapture because the harmful, corrosive gas around the Sulfur source will stop you from building. The gas clears out for a short time immediately following a rapture, giving you a window to work.
If the extractor is powered on and you’ve followed the instructions, you should now be able to safely collect Sulfur and continue completing tasks for the corporation.
