In the game Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, you have the ability to swim. But how beneficial is this feature for gameplay? Swimming offers a quick method to travel from one shore to another, avoiding lengthy land journeys. However, it does come with certain restrictions. To boost your swimming speed in Fantasy Life i, search for a crucial item in Ginormosia. Access to this area becomes available once you’re back in your own time. So if you’re still exploring Mysteria, focus on completing the “Life on a Mysterious Island” story quest first.
How to Unlock Swimming in Fantasy Life i
Swimming Gameplay Limitations
Once you establish your character on Mysteria’s coastline, you’ll acquire the ability to swim. Just make your way towards a water source and take a dive. Please be aware that swimming is limited to smaller lakes or certain rivers within Ginormosia, as you won’t be able to swim in the ocean or the river flowing under Mysteria’s capital city.
Can You Swim On Your Mount?

Upon meeting Edward again, you’ll discover an extraordinary realm called Ginormosia. This unique land exists apart from our current times and Mysteria, yet it brims with activities for your exploration. One of your initial tasks in Chapter 2: Leap of a Thousand Years will involve acquiring a mode of transportation – essentially a mount. As you progress, adhering to the main objectives, you’ll eventually cross paths with a bear named Don. Assisting Don will grant you access to various mounts.
In the game Fantasy Life 1, mounts are excellent for traveling long distances quickly, but they can’t be used to navigate town or cave environments like The Depths. You may have wondered if your mount could swim, but unfortunately, it cannot in this game. If you attempt to summon a mount while standing in water, the horse or mount icon will appear with a crossed-out symbol. However, mounts can traverse shallow waters, though this is not the same as swimming.
Where to Find Madam Chomp
What Does the Swimmer’s Pride Do?
To boost your swimming speed, you’ll want the “Swimmer’s Boost” item. To obtain it, locate a fearsome shark creature known as “Lady Bite” in Ginormosia and fulfill her challenge. Lady Bite resides in the “Easy Dryridge Desert”, specifically on the bank of the river north of Haniwa Hamlet. For precise directions, consult the marker in the third image provided above.
The first time you converse with Madam Chomp, she asks you to demonstrate your swimming abilities by venturing into the local lake nearby. If you talk to her again, she offers you the Swimmer’s Pride item for five Cashnuts, which enhances your swimming speed without requiring any equipment. This item is self-activating.
In the world of Ginormosia, Cashnuts serve as their unique form of currency, distinct from Dosh and Celestia Flowers. You can cultivate Cashnuts in various ways within the game “Fantasy Life”.
- Complete Area Challenges. These are the glowing red icons on your Ginormosia map. You’ll want to complete them quickly as the faster you do so, the more Cashnuts you’ll earn.
- Another way is to find Leafes in Ginormosia. These are the small, bright-colored leaves that stick out of the ground. Uprooting them will earn you one Cashnut.
- Finally, if you unlocked the Farmer Life, you can start selling fresh produce at the Evershops in Ginormosia.
Remember that you can keep the sprint button pressed when swimming in designated water areas, but the ocean isn’t an option for swimming.
