How To Get The Burial Blade In Bloodborne

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent traversing the labyrinthine worlds of FromSoftware titles, I must admit that the Burial Blade in Bloodborne has become one of my favorites. The thrill of defeating a formidable boss, only to wield their weapon, is a sensation unparalleled.

In the popular game series known as Dark Souls, it’s quite typical for players to wield the weapons of vanquished bosses, a tradition that carries over into Bloodborne. Not every boss has a usable weapon, but many are hunters, and their weapons either already belong to the player or will shortly become accessible.

In Bloodborne, there are various conclusions, one of which occurs early, preventing players from acquiring the Burial Blade initially. However, this weapon, although obtained towards the end of the game, can be utilized before confronting the ultimate final boss and during New Game +. Here’s a guide on how to obtain the Burial Blade in Bloodborne.

In two of the game’s endings, Gehrman wields a distinctive weapon known as The Burial Blade. Encounter him hidden behind the workshop in the Hunter’s Deal. Instead of complying with his request to end your life, challenge him to a fight. Once you’ve defeated him, you’ll be rewarded with the Old Hunter Badge. By presenting this badge to the messengers within the Hunter’s Dream, you can purchase The Burial Blade for 60,000 Blood Echos.

If you haven’t reached the real conclusion in Bloodborne, fighting Gehrman will also bring your journey to a close.

Using The Burial Blade In A First Playthrough

In a New Game Plus, the Old Hunter Badge enables players to immediately buy the weapon upon gaining access to the Hunter’s Dream. If you aim to utilize this weapon during the main game, DLC or late-game Chalice Dungeon farming, defeat Gehrman while working towards the true ending, but let yourself be defeated by Moon Presence instead. This will keep your current playthrough active, allowing you to acquire the Burial Blade and complete any remaining content in the game.
