As a seasoned adventurer with a knack for unraveling ancient mysteries, I must say that the art of obtaining the coveted camera in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is quite the thrilling escapade! The journey to acquire this tool of documentation is reminiscent of my own adventures, where every coin turned over or chest discovered was another step closer to unveiling long-lost secrets.
In Indiana Jones and the Great Circle game, the camera is one of the crucial items Indy can’t do without during his adventures. You’ll find this essential tool early on while exploring the Vatican City, one of the game’s initial areas. The camera is indispensable for completing main story objectives as well as side activities like unraveling Mysteries. However, unlike some other tools, it’s not automatically included in your adventurer’s kit at the beginning. Here’s how to get the camera in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle:
In the main story quest of “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” called “The Stolen Cat Mummy,” upon entering Vatican City, one of your initial tasks is to find the Post Office to collect a camera from Ernesto. As you tread cautiously towards it, you’ll discover that the only means to obtain the camera is by purchasing it. The game doesn’t explicitly explain how to earn money, which might leave you puzzled about how to gather enough funds for the purchase. Thankfully, there is a method to accumulate the required amount.

Where to Find the Camera
In the movie Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, you’ll discover the camera hidden within the Vatican City Postal Services. As shown in the image above, you can access the Post Office through a modest window. The most efficient route involves scaling the scaffolding at the end of the straight path and stealthily slipping past the guard with his dog while using the zipline.
Upon entering the building, I spotted a righteous stained-glass door adorned with an antique Clerical key that Antonio had entrusted me with. This key would unlock the Post Office’s entrance, where Ernesto resided, who held a precious camera within. The catch was, I needed to come up with 379 Lira to purchase it from him, but my funds were running low. Stealing wasn’t an option? More like, necessity. So, I had to devise a plan to acquire the necessary cash and secure that coveted camera without causing a scene.
How to Get Money to Buy the Camera (How to Get Lira)
Conveniently, there are numerous tents belonging to enemy soldiers close by where you can obtain currency from within the Belvedere Courtyard. You can search these tents to discover money (Lira) hidden on shelves, inside drawers, and various other places. There are also additional items to be found, such as fruit to restore your stamina. However, you must exercise caution and use stealth when retrieving the currency to avoid detection. The guards are not deceived by your Clerical Suit disguise and will not appreciate being robbed, so it’s advisable to keep a safe distance. If detected, you’ll need to quickly escape and hide in another location, like climbing onto one of the rooftops.
It’s not uncommon to discover cash hidden on the rear of security vehicles moving around town. Moreover, don’t forget to watch out for locked containers or treasure chests such as the one in the Belvedere Courtyard, which could contain additional coins. Make sure to stay alert during your city adventures. When you’ve accumulated enough money, you can revisit Ernesto at the Post Office and interact with the camera on the table to purchase it.
Should you find yourself with some additional funds, there are a couple of flyers available on the table near Ernesto. These flyers provide an excellent method to uncover clues for maps. You can pick up the “Vatican Mysteries” flyer for 300 Lira, which reveals the locations of Vatican Mystery sites. Additionally, there’s the “Vatican Artifacts Flyer,” priced at 300 Lira, that illustrates the whereabouts of lost artifacts within the Vatican.
How to Use the Camera in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
In the game “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle”, to utilize the camera, move the D-pad upwards first. To capture an image, open the viewfinder by pressing the left trigger, then press the right trigger to snap a photo (for Xbox players). A photo is taken most effectively when the prompt ‘Take Picture’ appears within the viewfinder, which usually indicates that you have found the perfect angle for your shot.
If you find yourself missing your mark during shots in other missions, such as trying to capture engravings around Vatican City, Indiana Jones might remark that the angle is off. To improve your shot, you may need to reposition or zoom in by pressing the left or right shoulder buttons (LB and RB if using an Xbox controller).
As you venture around, you might stumble upon Highlighted Spots, indicated by a convenient camera symbol appearing on your display, suggesting an opportunity for a photo. In situations where there’s no additional light source, you may need to hunt for a nearby light source to capture an image of something. The photographs of these Highlighted Spots are kept in the Journal.
After buying the camera and before leaving the Post Office, don’t forget to snap a photo of Ernesto to grab the Ecco! Achievement/Trophy.
