How to Get the Christmas Hat in Megabonk

As a huge Megabonk fan, I was so excited when the Spooky update dropped in early December 2025! It was a little late for Halloween, sure, but honestly, we were just thrilled to get all that new stuff – tons of items, characters, and weapons to collect and play with. It was a great addition to the game!

Just a few weeks after that, a Christmas update arrived for Megabonk, fixing some issues and adding more festive content. This guide explains how players can get the Santa Hat in Megabonk – the very first hat you can unlock as a cosmetic item in the game.

How to Unlock the Santa Hat in Megabonk

I’ve discovered that in Megabonk’s Quest section, there’s a Hats area! I can unlock hats there by finding a hidden present somewhere on the Forest map within Megabonk. It’s a fun little hunt!

Where Is the Present Hidden on Forest?

In Megabonk, a hidden present is somewhere on the Forest map. Players need to carefully explore every part of the map to find it. It’s quite small, making it tricky to see, but thankfully it’s wrapped in bright red paper with a yellow bow, which helps it stand out from the forest scenery.

To quickly find the Santa Hat in Megabonk, players should use a fast character like Calcium or Tony McZoom, or get the Agility Tome. Either way, being speedy will help them search the Forest much faster.

Once players find the present, they need to open it. A Santa Hat will appear, and by walking over it, they can equip it and potentially unlock it for future use.

How to Equip the Santa Hat in Megabonk

Okay, so I figured out how to get the Santa Hat! Once you find and open the present on the Forest map, it shows up in the Hats section of the Unlocks menu. Then, you can actually buy it permanently for 18 Silver. Pretty cool!

Okay, so if you want to get your character rocking the Santa hat, it’s pretty simple. You just start a game from the main menu, choose who you want to play as, and then – before you confirm everything – look for the ‘No Hat’ option. Just change that to ‘Santa Hat’ and you’re all set! It’s a fun little detail I discovered while messing around.
