How to Get the Fusioncutter in Star Wars Outlaws

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating galaxies far, far away, I must say that the Fusioncutter in Star Wars Outlaws is a tool every Jedi-wannabe needs. This versatile device, while seemingly elusive, can be acquired during the “Legacy” main-story mission – but not before you’ve completed your tasks on Kijimi and Tatooine.

In the game Star Wars Outlaws, there’s a hint of Metroidvania-style gameplay, where progression and discovery are facilitated by unique tools such as the Fusioncutter. Throughout your journey, you may come across barriers that can only be bypassed using the Fusioncutter. Although these barriers aren’t numerous, they might leave you curious about how Kay acquires the Fusioncutter in Star Wars Outlaws. This walkthrough aims to not only demonstrate how to obtain the Fusioncutter, but also provide details on when and where it becomes accessible.

As a gamer, I stumbled upon the Fusioncutter later in the game during the mission called “Legacy.” Though much of this mission unfolds on Akiva, it doesn’t directly link to “The Droidsmith” or “Viper.” So, if you decide to visit Akiva early on when given the choice, you won’t be able to complete “Legacy” and grab the Fusioncutter until you’ve wrapped up the main quests on Kijimi and Tatooine.

In the game world, you’ll find barriers that can only be passed with the Fusioncutter. However, it seems like there’s no way to obtain this item early on. You’ll just need to progress through the game and return to these obstacles at a later stage.

Kay Acquires the Fusioncutter:

After Kay finishes her assignments related to the three primary planets, she’ll shift her focus towards locating a second Slicer. Initially, “Legacy” hints at this pursuit, but it soon switches to a mission to save ND-5. (Without revealing too much) Kay ventures into an enormous subterranean facility in search of a very scarce component. Gedeek, the Droidsmith that Kay enlisted earlier, joins her on this expedition.

As I delve deeper into the intricate labyrinth with my companion, Kay and Gedeek, we stumble upon the unique gates that my Fusioncutter tool can easily bypass. Once I manage to slice through the initial barriers, I’ll hand over the device to Kay so she can continue her solo journey. From now on, I’ll have the Fusioncutter at my disposal.

Where to Use the Fusioncutter in Star Wars Outlaws

During both primary missions such as “Legacy” and exploration of different parts of the world, Kay will find numerous gates that she needs to pass through. These gates often conceal useful upgrades for the Blaster, Vehicles, and Tools which are especially valuable when preparing for later game enhancements.

As I traverse through the diverse landscapes of Star Wars Outlaws, I can’t tell how many hidden gates there are, but I know there must be quite a few scattered across its four primary planets. To uncover them or any other secret loot, always keep tabs on the question marks marked on your compass, which resides atop your HUD. In my recent adventures, I stumbled upon one of these gates guarding a New Treasure Location called Piapo’s Stash. Keep your eyes peeled for these enigmatic gates as you journey across the galaxy!
