Totenreich has four different Viking Helmets, and you can get the Icebane Helm by using the Flammenfalle Trap. While several Viking Helmets can help you survive later rounds in Totenreich, the Icebane Helm is likely the most effective.
Here’s a simple guide to help you get the Icebane Helm. It’s a valuable item because it eliminates ice-based effects, which could be really helpful when battling Drakavar and dealing with Frost Zombies – it might even become a key strategy!
How to Get the Icebane Viking Helmet in Totenreich
There are just two requirements you need to reach to get the Icebane Helm:
- Get 250 Normal Zombie kills with the flamethrower part of the Flammenfalle, which is the lever on the wall.
- Use a bullet weapon to kill 50 Frozen Zombies while standing in the flame aura part of the Flammenfalle, which is the trap itself.
After fulfilling both conditions, the Icebane Helm will appear after a zombie is defeated by the Flamefalle trap. You can then put it on to gain its advantages.
For the Normal Zombies challenge, the Beacon Island Trap is the most effective. Its back left corner provides complete protection, and the fire quickly eliminates zombies. When tackling the Frozen Zombies challenge, any trap works, but remember: only bullet damage counts – avoid using ammo upgrades or explosives!
What Does the Icebane Helm Do in Totenreich?
- The Icebane Helm removes the freezing debuff. This means that you can walk outside during Frozen Zombie rounds or snowstorms without being slowed down or damaged.
- You can also slide into zombies to freeze them.
- Of the 4 helmets, this is the one to get when it comes to fighting Dravakar, the Totenreich Easter Egg boss fight.
- However, if you’re going for high round strats, we recommend the Kneehigh Helm, as the Gnome has infinite health.
If the Icebane Helm has disappeared from your character – perhaps you tried to remove it, or it went missing after saving, quitting, and reloading the game – you can find it again at Blodheim Hall.
