How to Get the Swordsmanship Skill in The Sims 4

The Sims 4 Royalty and Legacy pack introduces a new skill called Swordsmanship, letting Sims participate in noble and knightly activities. This skill is central to the gameplay, especially in Ondarion, where Sims can duel for romance, career advancement, or just for enjoyment.

This guide covers everything players need to know about the Swordsmanship Skill in The Sims 4, from learning it to reaching the highest level.

How to Get the Swordsmanship Skill in The Sims 4

To learn the Swordsmanship Skill in The Sims 4, players need to get two things for their Sims: a Practice Dummy and a Sword.

As a player, I’ve found you can get practice dummies in Build Mode, which is awesome for training! If you want a sword, there are a few ways to get one. You can order it online using a computer in the game, buy it directly at the Blacksmith Workshop in Ondarion, or even just grab one off a Practice Dummy if you don’t already have one!

Practice Dummy Computer Blacksmith Workshop
  • Wooden Sword
  • Wooden Sword
  • Wooden Sword
  • Classic Longsword (Level 2)
  • Bellacorde Rapier (Level 5)
  • Dambele Saber (Level 5)
  • Verdemar Falcata (Level 5)

Players can get the Wooden Sword even before learning the Swordsmanship Skill. It costs 140 Simoleons when bought from a computer or Practice Dummy, but it’s cheaper – only 70 Simoleons – at the Blacksmith Workshop.

Other swords in The Sims 4 can be obtained by talking to the Zanbira Tree or completing quests.

After a Sim gets a Sword, they can learn the Swordsmanship Skill by practicing with a Training Dummy or by dueling with other Sims.
