In the opening of NieR: Automata, players are plunged into the early stages of 2B’s missions. Upon landing your flying craft and engaging in melee combat, you will be granted access to both a one-handed sword and a two-handed sword.

The two-handed sword is known as the Honorable Pact, a relatively potent weapon that you’ll temporarily misplace upon completing the prologue. Although the weapon seems out of reach at the moment, you can easily reacquire it once you gain access to free exploration swiftly in the subsequent chapter.

In the game, this is the initial extra weapon you can acquire if you follow a direct path, and it’s not too far from your starting point after exiting the bunker for the surface. After landing in the city ruins and descending to the lower region, look towards the left side to spot a highway directly above the nearest entryway. Advance straight toward the highway, then leap onto the ruins to scale up and travel along the main road of the highway. This route will eventually bring you back to the location of the factory.

Make your way to the factory by jumping down its entrance, then walk along the green trail that leads to the central building. Hidden on the left side, you’ll discover another access point accompanied by a staircase ascending to the higher level. In this upper section, cast your gaze to the left to spot the ruins of the bridge where you encountered the colossal adversary, the Goliath-class enemy. Sprint to the edge of the destroyed bridge to locate the Virtuous Treaty protruding from the ground, ready for you to grab and carry away.

To your right, you’ll find the remnant of your former self, a corpse that may still contain items you had at the start, such as consumables.

This way, it provides a clearer picture and uses more natural language. The original sentence might confuse some readers since it implies the body is not old but merely located to the right of something called ‘the sword’.

It’s also possible to pair this two-handed weapon with another by executing a heavy strike while wielding a faster weapon. This won’t allow for a full combo using this weapon, but it provides a quick strike within a rapid combo to compensate for the slow pace, while still capitalizing on its high damage potential.
