How to Get Wolfram Powder in StarRupture

In StarRupture, you’ll spend most of your time gathering resources and crafting them into useful items. Some crafts are simple, but others require more effort to unlock. Wolfram Powder is one of the more complex items, and you’ll need to build a good relationship with one of the game’s corporations to gain access to the necessary crafting station. This guide will show you how to get Wolfram Powder, so you can continue exploring Arcadia-7.

How to Get Wolfram Powder

To create Wolfram Powder, you’ll first need to smelt Wolfram Bars in a Furnace. This involves a multi-step process requiring at least three structures, and potentially a fourth if you plan to sell the powder to a corporation. Here’s a breakdown of how it works.

To start collecting Wolfram, first find a deposit on a planet – look for areas with a bronze-colored surface. Then, place an Ore Extractor on top of the deposit and connect it to a power source. This will begin the process of extracting Wolfram ore.

After that, construct a smelter and connect it to your extractor using a rail system. Ensure both the smelter and extractor have enough power – add another solar generator if needed. Then, activate the smelter and select the option to create Wolfram Bars. If everything is set up correctly, you’ll see Wolfram ore traveling from the extractor to the smelter along the rail.

To fully connect your setup, you’ll need a rail line linking your furnace to your smelter. You can unlock the furnace by reaching level 4 reputation with the Selenian Corporation, which requires 6,400 reputation points. I personally found it easiest to earn those points by consistently providing them with Titanium Sheets, as my initial base was set up to produce a lot of it.

To level up corporations faster, you can send Data Points to them using the screen in your habitat. Especially early in the game, having a large number of Data Points allows you to quickly raise a corporation’s level.

Okay, so I finally got my furnace linked up to my smelter. It was a bit tight on power, so I had to put down another solar generator to make sure everything ran smoothly. Once that was done, I went over to the furnace and clicked on it – and there it was, the option to craft Wolfram Powder! It was such a relief to finally see it available.

If you just need a small amount of Wolfram powder, you can put Wolfram Bars into a furnace that isn’t linked to a Wolfram ore extractor. This stops the furnace from constantly making powder until you change its settings.

As you venture further into Arcadia-7, you’ll need Wolfram Powder to craft ammo for the Assault Rifle. The pistol is good at the start, but you’ll eventually want more powerful weapons to progress.
