How to hide chat in Once Human

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but appreciate the flexibility that Once Human offers when it comes to chat customization. I remember the days of being bombarded by constant messages in other games, which often took away from my immersion and focus on the gameplay.

In the free-roam MMORPG “Once Human,” where play is at no cost, you’ll encounter numerous other players during your gaming experience. Engage with these players through the in-game chat system for communication. However, if you prefer a quieter atmosphere and wish to turn off chat, there are available methods to accomplish that.

For those who prefer a tidier stream or less distractions, there’s an option to conceal the chat. Here’s a simple guide on how to do it. Moreover, if you wish to modify the color of your messages, I’ve got you covered as well.

How to disable text chat in Once Human

  1. Press F1 to bring up the Contacts menu
  2. Navigate to the messages tab in settings.
  3. Adjust your channel settings

In Once Human, there are various communication channels, each with distinct messages associated with them. Let me give you a brief overview of what each channel entails:

  • System channel: Shows system messages and notifications.
  • Regional channel: Displays messages from other players in your region.
  • World channel: Broadcasts messages to all players in the game world.
  • Team channel: Communicate with your team members.
  • Hive channel: Communicate with players in your Hive.
  • Warband channel: Communicate with players in your Warband.

From my experience as a passionate gamer, if you prefer to completely mute all in-game chatter, simply turn off each and every channel for you. Alternatively, feel free to customize the chat based on your preferences by adjusting the channel settings.

How to change text color

If you’re happy with the standard chat settings in Once Human but would like to personalize it further, feel free to adjust the text color by preceding your text with the symbol “#” followed by the desired color code.

Instead of “For example, if you type ‘#G Hi,’ your ‘Hi’ will be green in the chat,” you could say “When you message ‘#G Hi’ in the chat, your greeting will appear in green color.”

  • Green: #G
  • Red: #R
  • White: #W
  • Blue: #B
  • Black: #K

As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the gaming world, I can confidently tell you that there are a plethora of colors available in-game to enhance your visual experience. However, for those looking to add a touch of personal flair, using custom color codes is an excellent way to go.

After obtaining your specific color code, such as “#c6a20cf” for instance, input it into the system, and voila! You’ll be rewarded with a regal shade of purple for your text.

Currently, the game “Once Human” is exclusively playable on PC. However, there are plans to bring it to consoles in the future. The specifics regarding console compatibility have not been disclosed yet, but we’ll keep you informed as soon as we know more. In the meantime, players can take advantage of free codes for various in-game items. Additionally, here’s a helpful tip: when you require Gold or Aluminum during gameplay, be sure to check the appropriate locations.
