How To Increase Attraction Prestige In Planet Coaster 2

As a seasoned rollercoaster enthusiast with over 20 years of theme park visits under my belt, I must say that Planet Coaster 2 has truly captured the essence of the thrill and management side of the amusement industry. Among the many intricate aspects of this game, Attraction Prestige stands out as a challenging yet rewarding metric to master.

In the game Planet Coaster 2, the Attraction Prestige is one of the key factors that influence your park’s overall rating. This overall rating serves as a general indicator of your park’s standing within the game, and its star value is calculated by averaging four sub-categories: Appeal (Scenery Rating), Diversity (Attraction Variety), Popularity (Park Reputation), and Prestige (Attraction Prestige).

Among the four stats, enhancing Attraction Prestige might prove to be the most challenging task in Planet Coaster 2. The Park Reputation can be elevated through better Guest services, Scenery Rating can be amplified with additional Scenery items, and Attraction Variety simply necessitates purchasing unique attractions. However, to boost Attraction Prestige, players need to grasp the factors influencing Ride Prestige and learn how these can be impacted by their customizations.

What Is Attraction Prestige In Planet Coaster 2?

The quality of attractions in your park.

Adding more prestigiuous rides helps to attract and impress guests.

In the game Planet Coaster 2, Ride Prestige represents the overall appeal and worth of an attraction to the visitors. This value is determined by two factors: the Ride Experience score and the Scenery Bonus from the surrounding environment. You can observe your Park’s total Attraction Prestige in the Park Management menu, under the Park Rating tab. By highlighting “Attraction Prestige,” you will find three key stats: the earned Attraction Prestige Stars on the top-right corner, the current total Attraction Prestige that aggregates all individual Ride Prestige values, and the required Prestige to earn the next star for this Park Rating metric. Enhancing your Ride Prestige (and therefore increasing Attraction Prestige) in Planet Coaster 2 will result in more spending by guests in your park. A more prestigious park means guests will have deeper pockets, so it’s a good idea to focus on boosting this stat if you want to rapidly increase profits.

How To Increase Attraction Prestige In Planet Coaster 2

As a ride operates over time, its status naturally elevates due to growing reputation, transforming into timeless, cherished attractions for the park. However, with age, these rides may eventually be perceived as outdated by guests, no longer contributing to additional prestige. At this point, it might be beneficial to replace them to ensure your park maintains maximum attraction allure.

Besides a ride’s reputation, which is unchangeable, there are two aspects that you can affect to enhance its Appeal Factor: the Quality of the Ride and the Scenic Benefit.

Increasing Ride Experience

Ride Experience is calculated based on the price point, queue time, and three ride stats (Excitement, Fear, Nausea), as well as the overall perceived value for money. As such, to increase Attraction Prestige, you must pay close attention to the metadetails of a ride and the specifics of its construction, for custom-made rides.

It doesn’t matter how long or elaborate your ride is – an extremely long and complex roler coaster will not score much higher than a well-designed, well-optimized Flat Ride.

To enhance the guest’s perception of a ride’s affordability, consider implementing Dynamic Pricing. This system adjusts costs from lower to higher prices depending on the ride’s popularity and wait times. If budget isn’t a concern, you can always set the price to Budget (or offer it for free) to boost its reputation and attractiveness.

To enhance wait times at attractions, aim for each ride to carry the maximum number of vehicles, or initiate them only when all seats are occupied. This strategy will allow more visitors to enjoy the ride, and dynamic pricing should help prevent queue issues. However, keep in mind that shorter rides yield less prestige compared to longer ones. While extended rides can boost prestige, they may also decrease turnover and profit, potentially leading to longer queues.

To create thrilling yet comfortable experiences for Coasters and custom-designed rides, utilize the editor to polish rough spots and high G zones. Strive to make your attractions as exhilarating as feasible without causing excessive Nausea or Fear. If your Nausea or Fear levels are marked in red, it indicates that a significant number of visitors may find your ride unappealing or even intimidating.

How To Increase Scenery Bonus

The Scenery Bonus of a ride is the second stat that contributes to its Prestige. This stat is derived from the Scenery Score of all objects attached to the Scenery Group associated with your Ride. To add a Scenery object to your Scenery Group for the ride, select the object you want to add, then drag it over the ride to open the Scenery Group editor. Until you exit this group selection tool and the borders of the screen revert back to normal, all Scenery objects you add will be included in this attraction’s Scenery Bonus.

In simpler terms, for every 20 points in the Scenery Score, you earn one bonus point for the Scenery Bonus, up to a maximum of 500 bonus points per ride. Once your Scenery Score exceeds 10,000 points for a single ride, additional Scenery objects will no longer add to your Scenery Bonus.

Almost all blueprint coasters, flat rides, and other Attractions come with a high Scenery Score, but if you need to increase the Scenery Score of a custom ride, open up the Custom Scenery menu within the Scenery tab. Make sure you click on the ride group that needs more Scenery, and get building.

While the Ride Experience is significant and can exceed 500 Prestige points, it’s prone to fluctuations and may be challenging to optimize fully. Conversely, the Scenery Bonus is quicker to enhance, as you only need a few minutes to place decorative items near your ride for maximum bonus. A simple pause in the game can significantly boost a ride’s Prestige by multiple stars through decoration.
