How to Increase Backpack Size in Moonlighter 2

In Moonlighter 2, each run you complete rewards you with relics that you can sell in your shop. This lets you earn money to buy better equipment, upgrade your shop, and improve your character. The game has a satisfying cycle of running and selling, but the number of relics you can carry is limited by your backpack size. Backpack slots determine how many relics you can bring back from each run, so many players are looking for ways to increase their backpack capacity in Moonlighter 2.

How to Get More Backpack Slots in Moonlighter 2

Expensive but Worthwhile Upgrades

Need more space in your backpack? You can buy extra slots from Sliver in the main hub area using the gold you’ve collected. The first slot costs 4,000 gold, and each additional slot gets more expensive.

After you first encounter Sliver during a run, he’ll appear in Tresna, the hub world, located in the southwest corner. You can find him by visiting question mark tiles on the map, alongside other characters. You don’t need to beat the final boss to unlock him. Once you’ve met him, you can return to Tresna anytime using your pendant (hold B on Xbox or Square on PlayStation), or you can choose to return after dying, though this will lower the quality of your relics.

If you’re having trouble locating Sliver, check your minimap in the bottom right corner for a backpack icon. A small green exclamation point will appear next to the icon the first time you find him, indicating he’s a new character or shop to explore. You can see what the icon looks like in the screenshot below, though Sliver is slightly to the right of the other characters shown.

In Moonlighter 2, after you get your first weapon, you can spend your earnings on helpful upgrades by talking to the characters you meet. These upgrades include a bigger backpack, more health, extra potions, and new items to decorate your shop.

More backpack slots will be available to buy soon. However, I’ve hit a roadblock because the materials needed to upgrade beyond my current level aren’t in the game yet. The developers plan to add these materials later during the early access period, or with the full game release.
